Originally by: Alota Iskies OKąso I jumped back into the game for a few minutes and I immediately got a chat requestąguess who? The guy who borked the contract.
He admitted that he screwed up the contract, he meant for it to be a private contract to one of his alts and was asking for me to return it to him. He even offered to let me keep 1 million ISK if I returned the rest with all the modules.
HereĘs the brief chat log, I changed his name to Bob because I donĘt know if IĘm allowed to post names here:
Bob > Look, I screwed up the contract and just want the items back. Just send it back as a contract and keep 1m for yourself for the trouble. Alota Iskies > I dunno, IĘm prettyhappy with how this contract worked out for me. (slight delay) Bob > How about you contract all the items back to me and keep the ISK? ThatĘs 4 million isk that you get for just creating a contract.
At this point I started wondering about the items, when I looked at the list originally it seemed like just junk and there wasnĘt really anything of value. So I hoped over to the station to take a closer look (3 jumps) while heĘs keeps chatting at me about how it was a simple mistake.
It turns out there were 3 small cargo containers in the contract, I just assumed they were empty. They werenĘt.
Container 1 had a few BPOs in it. Nothing major, one of each shuttle, Mining Drone I, and a few other ship components. I did a quick tally against the local market and discover that the Mining Drone I BPO is selling for 17 million ISK in the region. The other BPOs in the container a probably valued at 2 million ISK total. So 19 million ISK in BPOsą
Container 2 had a few T2 ship components (Shield Power Relay IIs, Cap Recharger IIs, and a Heat Dissipation Amplifier II) ū approx 5 million isk value. But that wasnĘt alląthere were also skillbooks: Laboratory Operation, Mass Production, Mining Barge, and Production Efficiency. ThatĘs about another million worth.
Container 3 was indeed empty, I guess that's the one I saw originally and just assumed the other 2 were.
In the loot itself, I also see 7 Small Tractor Beams. ThatĘs about 10 million, plus the other stuff which I havenĘt sorted through yet.
So my original valuation of this was way off, I thought it came out to about 4 million including the Wreathe. But it seems to be closer to about 50 million isk worth of stuff in it.
So I go back to the chat window and he keeps asking me to return the items and our chat turns into this:
Bob > Come on man I just want me stuff back Alota Iskies > You know thereĘs some interesting stuff in these containers Bob > ą (another dramatic pause) Bob > What do you want? Alota Iskies > Well, by my estimate thereĘs 50 million worth of stuff in here. So how about we say 30 million and call it a day? (30 seconds pass) Alota Iskies > Hello? Bob > **** YOU!!!!!
He then leaves the private chat lol.
So IĘm sitting on about 50 million worth of inventory when I originally thought I had much less than that. I honestly didnĘt know it was worth this much, most of it looks to be just mission loot. Lots of ammo, some projectile turrets, shield/armor hardeners, etc. ItĘs pretty random, so I just thought it was junk.
Yay? lol
Screenshot, anybody want to buy some of this stuff? lol
I can't believe people are actually fooled by this ingenious way to introduce an alt into Market Discussion. Eventually you're going to ask for ISK through an IPO because you've done so great for yourself through trading and people are going to trust you. I guess the noobs have to be taught by someone.
Better yet, I'm amazed this forum still has active Bonds running after all the "trustworthy" players that have scammed... ______________________________________ ISKAssassin - IN A DARK ALLEY NEAR YOU |
