How does this stuff fit with the backstory?
MT-pimped pilot/ship gets blown up and all MT-pimp gear that was on the ship/pilot somehow ends up on the new ship/clone?
This is so against the eve spirit of old that I know.
I can already hear people saying MT-pimp gear doesnt affect gameplay so thats why it can magically respawn on the characters next clone/ship. Wtf are you on about?
Well, for me it does affect game play. It affects gameplay in a sense none seem to pay any attention to for whatever reason: it affects immersion in a BAD way, and the game is all about immersion or we wouldnt be playing it at all, but a game of chess instead, or some poker.
If things are gona go in any direction concerning stuff being destructible/indestructible, it should be towards more stuff being destructible. It s all about blowing up the other guys stuff after all, CCP! You know this and still you re doing this to EVE?

Oh look, a new and novel thread.
Your body dies, but OMG you always keep it. No way would the cost of a med clone include a change of clothing!

Station game is station game. Ship game is ship game. Never the twain shall meet.
How is it ruining immersion for people who complain and hate the WiS thing?
Clothes have nothing to do with the ship combat so why would it bother people who dig the ship part of the game?
I swear some people have loot fetish.

He's is disturbed because of what you just said "ship PART of the game"
Now its not ONE MASSIVE UNIVERSE WHERE ALL INTERACT AND AFFECT EACH OTHER AND RISK REIGNS SUPREME... its now split into TWO parts... ship game.. and less risk WIS game.
All this BS about ONE MASSIVE UNIVERSE and trying to get Dust integrated for a great idea, based on the same principle... but now as you said.. we have two. Its been sharded.
So yes... it a HUGE FAIL in my opinion as well and pretty distracting to some us old fart players still believe the ONE UNIVERSE propaganda apparently =========================

Just imagine that you aren't actually buying a single item, but a lifetime supply of it. When you die the item indeed gets destroyed, but the NEX gives you a new garment for your clone or does a paint job on your new ship.
It also explains why those items are so ridiculously expensive

This is so against the eve spirit of old that I know.
All the free clothes we've worn since EVE began we've kept after being podded. So it is exactly in the spirit of EVE that all the clothes from the NEX store that are worn are kept after being podded.
In fact it would be against the EVE spirit of old if we suddenly found ourselves naked and having to replace clothes after being podded.
Your argument is ridiculous!

Since real cash on top of sub is involved there is no chance in hell CCP will make item destructible that easy.
so one can choose to ignore MT failure completely as long as it doesn't affect eve any more than being the crappiest thing that happen to eve since its existence.
wearing n.a.z.i skirts and being fake riddick is unoriginal and pathetic as can get anyway.

The reason NeX items are indestructible has nothing to do with what part of the game people are interested in. It has everything to do with sales.
Noone is going to pay +$100 for an outfit, $1,000 for a full wardrobe if it's going to be destroyed 10 minutes later. And thus, this is why clothing is indestructible.
Of course, the current & exclusive pricing is a big FU to a majority of CCP's subscriber base. The fact that the stuff is indestructible is another FU in effect saying, "For our rich client we impart 'special' attributes that makes MT for those of you who can't/won't participate completely exclusionary and untouchable".
This is partly why many people are disgusted with MT in its present form in EVE. CCP could have made clothing extremely cheap AND destructible. With affordable pricing CCP would have 1) Made MT extremely accessible and therefore an instant success not only in terms of purchases but, on the PR front as well. Being destructible would have insured a steady and robust income stream. When I say cheap, I'm talking like $0.50 a garment. EVERYONE except the principled individuals would be buying from the NeX. And they wouldn't be too concerned about PVPing in their destructible clothing. Hell, CCP could have even added an option to clones: "[] Clone will automatically repurchased destroyed clothing".
But, no, CCP wants to say FU to those would can't/won't afford $70 monocles. It's complete crap.

Fine, need some backstory to get this?
Included in the cost of your NeX purchase is a lifetime insurance and replacement policy. Should your item be destroyed or damaged any way, the Nobel Exchange, without cost to you, will personally deliver your replacement items to your awakened clone for immediate use.
Maybe thats why they cost so much isk to begin with?
Also, last week called. They want their thread back.
