I am wondering how many people that have used or plan to use the Nex store directly purchased their Aurum through real life money ( > Plex > Aurum )
Or did you use ingame isk? (ISK > Plex > Aurum)
Personally I wont be using the Nex store, but if I did I would definitely convert ISK > Plex.

To be honest I cant see why many would wish to go down the path of ISK > PLEX > AUR.
It strikes me that ISK > PLEX > Game Time is simply a better deal. That's why the NeX store fails so hard, you could either have a functionless 'vanity' item OR weeks of game play 'free'.
That's a correlation rarely mentioned (most focus on ú$ú$ > PLEX > AUR) when evaluating the perceived value of NeX goods.
This might change with DUST depending upon what can solely be purchased with AUR. (i.e game influencing items)

I think I've converted 4 PLEX to AUR so far. And bought many goggles. And sold them in Market for up to 25% profit

Why not get both? I can easily afford 1 PLEX per month for gametime. In addition I can afford to buy vanity items, but currently NeX doesn't have anything I'd like to use on my char.
edit: And while I could use extra ISK to pay for 2nd account, my current computer can't handle dualboxing, so I would prefer nice vanity item instead of 2nd account. For now.

When youre like me and have tens of billions of disposable ISK, you sorta run out of things to buy. thats why rich people buy monocles. No point in buying 6 years worth of plexs right now just for subscription time, just buy one, spend some on something else, hold rest in reserve till u want more gametime, or more AUR :-P

Either way you do it, you're a douchenozzle imo.
If you pay $ for it, you're rewarding CCP by giving them money they don't deserve and encouraging them to expand MT even more.
If you pay ISK for it, you drive up the cost of game-time for everyone else in the game, and provide someone else a greater incentive to give CCP more money they don't deserve, encouraging them to expand MT even more.
If you like this game (Internet Spaceships) AT ALL, you're nuts to buy clothes. You're just rewarding bad behavior and you will get more of it.

RL money.
I used to buy stupid games all the time. $50 for the CoD games, $75 to pre order collectors editions... and all the games always SUCK. For years games just SUCKED. I had a lifetime sub to Hellgate:London. $150 right down the tube. Age of Conan was crap and directional combat PvP was hype. Rift is a WoW clone with bad end game. Shooters never let you shoot anyone anymore and lean on explosives and gadgets. Way too much money spent for crap.
When I find the rare game I enjoy playing, I have no problem throwing that money at that instead. Every time a CoD game comes out or a new MMORPG comes out that I'm thinking about buying, I cut that money up. Some just not spent, maybe order a pizza, and put $15 earmarked towards my game fund.

I did the 1-week free trial last week and really enjoyed it (hit the free trial level cap and was hungry for more.) Certainly moreso than WoW. But yeah, it always comes down to the end-game.
Any end-game has to be better than collecting space barbie clothes between server crashes while goons give each other 'special shovels' though.

hate to burst your bubble bro but your the stupid one here if you don't realize that someone pays CCP for that PLEX. last time i checked there was no blueprint to manufacture PLEX, so even if you use your isk to buy it you are still paying CCP for that game time. sorry if that is hard for you to comprehend but that is the simplest way i can put it. altho you probably think that the minerals you mine are free too each month of game time that is played by all players has been paid for by real life money.
there is no way around this, even tho you think its free its not. just because your mommie makes you a nice sandwich while you are in the basement running your 5 account mining ops so you can play for "free", somebody had to pay for the sandwich. sure to you it seems free cause you didn't contribute to its creation or pay for it but ask your mommy what she had to do to earn that sandwich for you.
the second point is that you are one of the dummies that plays into CCP's business strategy by buying PLEX with isk and then converting it to aur thinking your are getting it for free. as john above me said any player who truly loves the game will not use aur at all and show CCP loud and clear that we don't want them wasting time on that stuff. however if you keep playing pimp my character then that just encourages them to spend more resources on vanity items for you.

Just in case these trolls are confusing people, I'll try to simplify it:
If you buy clothes (whether with $ or ISK,) you encourage CCP to continue devoting significant development resources to microtransactions/cash shops and to continue devoting negligible development resources to Internet Spaceships.
If you don't buy clothes (whether with $ or ISK,) you encourage CCP to stop devoting significant development resources to microtransactions/cash shops and to return to devoting significant development resources to Internet Spaceships.
CCP has demonstrated convincingly and conclusively that they can't do both at the same time. So if you like EVE (Internet Spaceships,) you would be idiotic to buy clothes or any other non-PLEX cash shop items.
If you reward bad behavior, you get more of it. If you punish bad behavior, you get less of it. CCP is watching what you do, not what you say.

I think there is a misconception about the ISK > PLEX > Aurum thing.
I would think most people buy GTCs to sell them for ISK. Some players choose to do it through the GTC sales forum, while others choose to break them and sell them on the market as PLEX for a little bit more. Either way, the player who initially purchased the GTC still had the same goal in mind -- to turn RL $ into ISK.
From there, the PLEX is the vessel in which items on the NeX are bought. Players give the person who bought the GTC/PLEX their ISK and then they buy the vanity item with their PLEX. So what you are doing in turn is basically paying ISK to somebody to buy a vanity item.

This.
If anything decent appears I will pay it with ISK since I have enough of that. It's a side effect of enjoying the game, so I can squander a bit of it - if the reward is right. At the moment it's not. I'd rather play one more month or buy a faction BS instead of buying a crappy shirt.

that was kinda the point in CCP following their "incremental releases" like with incursions
at the end of Noevember we had a patch that changed our login screens to INCURSION but the noctis and learning removal wasnt till mid December and the actual incursions themselves along with the new character creator didnt hit until mid January
if you keep that sort of schedule going we're due for some shinies in late July and even more stuff in August with a "niffy incremental change" about mid october

Breaking the simple model that PLEX offered with this increased demand is poor strategy. At what price will PLEX become beyond affordable for the main and alts if your in the æjust a bit of ISKÆ camp? Will be interesting to see how dedicated to Eve these players are when they have to pay to play with RL monies

Has anyone thought of the fact, forgeting about MT-since there has been Plex, if u buy it with real money or grind for 40 hours to buy that super special space ship for isk.
No matter what u do, your isk u buy, or use to perchase that shiny is in a sense all money going to ccp in one form or another. Cause at the end of the day, plex is a isk sink, and if u buy plex or not, your isk will more then likley end up there.
So in a months time, if u are a pure gamer, dont buy plex for cash, or dont buy plex for isk. Say if u grind you balls off. You then buy that faction battle ship/hulk what ever. The guy you buy it from might not be buying his play time through you, but the guy or the the other guy supplying the minerals, the prints, the POS. Has bought plex with your hard earned work. LAWL

Here's one option you forgot: you buy clothes and such from the NeX, CCP profits big time and they are able to shovel more and more into the dividends they pay their shareholders. That's the option I like best.

What you and the other closed minds fail to realize is yes, there is such a thing as a free lunch. But only for us privileged few that ride on the backs of dumb people that have to pay for their iskies.
I don't care that some loser isn't capable of making money and buys GTCs. I only care that I play for free because of him.
God bless the stupid. Without them I'd have to pull out the CC and actually pay for this game.

hate to burst your bubble bro but your the stupid one here if you don't realize that someone pays CCP for that PLEX. last time i checked there was no blueprint to manufacture PLEX, so even if you use your isk to buy it you are still paying CCP for that game time. sorry if that is hard for you to comprehend but that is the simplest way i can put it. altho you probably think that the minerals you mine are free too each month of game time that is played by all players has been paid for by real life money.
there is no way around this, even tho you think its free its not. just because your mommie makes you a nice sandwich while you are in the basement running your 5 account mining ops so you can play for "free", somebody had to pay for the sandwich. sure to you it seems free cause you didn't contribute to its creation or pay for it but ask your mommy what she had to do to earn that sandwich for you.
the second point is that you are one of the dummies that plays into CCP's business strategy by buying PLEX with isk and then converting it to aur thinking your are getting it for free. as john above me said any player who truly loves the game will not use aur at all and show CCP loud and clear that we don't want them wasting time on that stuff. however if you keep playing pimp my character then that just encourages them to spend more resources on vanity items for you.
Sorry but we poor people can't take you seriously unless you have a monocle. All the trusted people have monocles people look up to because they are always right. They know what they are talking about. I don't mind people paying for my game, so can I have a plex then?

Capitalization, punctuation, basic grammar knowledge and some small ability at reading comprehension would make viewing that mess of verbal diarrhea a little more palatable.
