Logged on before to set a new skill training. Checked my EVE mails and found one from my agent telling me how disappointed he was in me for not getting back to him in time about a mission that I was 'offered'. This was news to me as I hadn't asked for a mission.
I've had this once before, and from what I can remember it was right after accepting/completing a storyline mission. Needless to say I've petitioned this, but I seem to be spending more time writing petitions than playing the game these days!
Anyone else had this problem with missions? ----------------------------------------------------- Member of STK Scientific [STK-S]. Come see us at http://www.stkscientific.com |

I don't like the fact that as soon as I have completed a mission I get offered another one by the same agent immediately afterwards without asking for one, this results in a loss of rating with that agent should I not have time to do it.
Therefore this basically means that should I want to do some missions - I can't start one unless I know that I have enough time to complete the entire string of missions. ________________________________________________ Stop Whining!!!

Edited by: MaximvS on 24/02/2005 12:47:23 In addendum, one of the last things I did was reject an 'offer' with the same agent. I've submitted a bug report, and will await the findings!
You can petition when you get unwanted missions. I petitioned mine earlier and got a very speedy response which was a nice surprise. ----------------------------------------------------- Member of STK Scientific [STK-S]. Come see us at http://www.stkscientific.com |

Along the same lines, when I talk to my agent to use his location services, it gives me a mission offer so everytime I wanna look for someone I have to do a mission or lose standings

You can turn down a mission per agent for free every 4 hours. So depending on how often you need to look for someone you wont lose anything ---------------------------

I think the unasked mission offer appears (sometimes, not always ?) directly after you have clicked on the "back" button in the agent dialog where he says "Thank you for fullfilling my last mission" or similiar to you when you get the reward of the last mission. If you donŠt want to do another mission do not click on the "back"-button but always close this dialog by the "x" button on the top right corner of the dialog. Then no new mission offer should appear in the mission log.
I encountered the same problem once before but I think I hadnŠt this problem in the last months again so I thought this had been fixed with one of the patches in the last weeks/months. |

Hmm i remmember you get a mission offer straight after finishing the level 2 mission where you have to intercept a amaatar convoy carrying marines. The follow up mission is "Revenge is sweet" and throws a ton of mercenary rookies at you with a mercenary fighter and named bounty hunter at the end.
That might be it?

Funnily enough the unwanted mission was a lvl 4 'Revenge is Sweet', but it came after 'Unauthorized Military Presence'. ----------------------------------------------------- Member of STK Scientific [STK-S]. Come see us at http://www.stkscientific.com |

Those missions are kind of story line missions, they are tied together, you always get the revenge is sweet after unautorhized military presence.

always when the mission "revenge is sweet" is the next mission i don't have to ask for a mission. I saw the mission in journal before i spoke to the agent

If that is the case it is still a bug. You shouldn't automatically be getting missions that can expire, and hence affect your standing. The journal isn't always updated straight away either, sometime you have to dock/undock for it to be updated (storyline missions are a good example of this). When I logged there were no missions in my journal, so I wasn't aware of it.
I can understand you getting follow up missions, however it should be the next mission you get after asking your agent for work. It would be nice to see an official response to this... ----------------------------------------------------- Member of STK Scientific [STK-S]. Come see us at http://www.stkscientific.com |
