I think it's because people start threads on the Eve O forums to manipulate the price.

Because sometimes the price rises, and sometimes it falls. If you want to know exactly how and why these things happens, you should take some economics classes. ----------

And some people troll to cover up their own ignorance.

Oh, great. Another thread with some nitwit agonizing over inconsequential price fluctuations.

Understanding this can be a bit complicated. I'll try to explain.
In wormholes you have 3 types of combat sites that you want to do to bring in ISK and resources needed for T3 production.
Cosmic Anomalies: Good for Salvage and Tags. Radar site: Salvage, Tags, Decryptors and Datacores. Magnometric Site: Salvage, Tags and Relics.
You need Tech Decryptors and Datacores to research Relics into BPCs (chance based). Generally I see more Radar sites than Magnometric sites in wormholes. Also the cans in Radar sites usually hold alot more Datacores and Decryptors than needed to research the relics that you can get in a Magnometric Site. So the market has for two years been flooded by Data Cores and Decryptors that noone really needed. There is one exception, and thats the Caldari Tech Decryptor. This item has been in high demand for a long time due to the Tengu being by far the most popular T3 Cruizer on the market (some would say overpowered).
At the same time the T3 market has been somewhat experimental over the last 2 years. People have been trying out different fits and the prices of subsystems have fluctuated naturally across the board. Fits are now pretty much ironed out. Some subsystems are greatly favored by spacepilots, and are in much higher demand. Generally when you research relics nowadays you want one specific subsystem, out of the four possible outcomes. Thus you need more Relics nowadays to get the really golden BPCs. All in the interest of maximizing profit for yourself or your corporation.
Many corporations devote their time and resources on scanning out Magnetometric sites and do as many of those that they can to get the valuable Relics. You can also ôBlitzö Magnetometric sites in Class 6 systems by just looting the cans, jam the Sleepers and warp to the next site. Isk pr hour can be pretty huge this way. Some Magnetometric sites in C5Æs for example, have spawn triggers on the Cans themselves. This can slow the isk pr hour down a bit, but there is no such trigger on the C6 Magnos. In stead of spending an equal amount of time and resources clearing Radar sites the same way, for the less valuable research tech, we just buy what we need. A Magnometric Site can for example have Relics for 1.5 billion isk (this naturally fluctuate somewhat), while a Radar site would typically have research tech for maybe 100 million isk, value decided pretty much directly on how many Caldari Tech Decryptors you got.
Value of Research Tech will continue to rise in the future. Many of the bigger ôPlayersö on the T3-market understand these consepts very well and exploit them to the fullest. Radar sites will continue to be undervalued, and mostly left alone, by the wormhole corporations until we reach some kind of equilibrium on the value of the goods in Radar- and Magnometric sites. That point is still far into the future if the market continue to evolve naturally.
Good luck on your speculations =)

As long as you adjust your sell prices for output items, it shouldn't matter right? If it is no longer profitable, then you move on to something that is?
I'm not sure why rising prices of components or materials to make T2/T3 items is of any real consequence - the market will adjust. Short term, yeah kind of a pain but over time price fluctuations don't really matter in my experience. Unless of course you make only one item and continually do that and expect profits each time.
If you really want an answer to your question though, I would try posting in the trade forum. Many people do speculation and research on market trends there. Probably more helpful.

1) CCP is running live events and roleplaying a scientist who is studying wormholes.
2) All past instances of CCP running events were to set the stage for new expansion content.
3) Because this latest set of events are all about Sleepers and wormholes, it's plausible that new expansion content will be related to T3 items.
4) The real money in Eve is made by speculating on upcoming additions to Eve by CCP.
5) People are buying up T3-related items.
