The wakeup call you'd get from exposure to the inside would ruin the EVE experience for you. We'd loose another great player, and possible everything he has built over the years. I'm dead serious. I have no doubt you would give it everything you have with a very professional approach, suitably combining accountability, insight, oversight, communication, representation. But really, look at what happens to those who try to stimulate meaningful change with honesty. They disappear. Come to EVE in China, EXPERT HOUSING, New Eden's Blue Lagoon.

Why, because he was going from dev to dev spinning a tale about he and Soundwave having each other's back and how he could do the same for them? Yeah, it's worked out really well hasn't it, social engineering for gaining influence via personal relations. Last I recall, CCP and the brosefs walked right over them, even misrepresenting CSM, not informing them, ignoring them, and even running off with a statement they made while managing to twist that statement into the exact opposite - and then use it as a stamp of approval for what CCP wanted to do, for which CSM warned them but got ignored. Mittani has basically turned what was CSM into a show on stage in service of personal gain. Nothing more, nothing less. He's been honest about that intent, so anybody surprised now really shouldn't be surprised. What you could be surprised about is how completely ineffective his chosen methods have turned out to be, tbh how counterproductive they have turned out to be. But really it should not be a surprise. I still have hope that this CSM 6 will yield us something useful, but as always that only ever happens the term after the term, so that'll be CSM 7. Just like the roots and push for nullsec, time dilation, polishing, gridlock, bff and so forth are in CSM 5, so will whatever CSM 6 may start doing surface in CSM 7.

Until that is solved the CSM are just sockpuppets in the hands of CCP - too reliant on the little extra validation they get out of this game to represent the players' POV. Whenever one of the CSMs opens their mouth I end up thinking I am listening to a CCP employee (employee, not company rep/PR person). That's not what I elected them for.

Secondly CSM has alot of benefits and perks that ingratiates CSM to CCP. In other words they don't represent us TO ccp, they represent ccp TO us. You can think of them as unpaid devs who can't code. Their job is to make us feel like CCP is hearing us even when they're not. If CCP was listening we wouldn't have CQ, we wouldn't have Nex, we wouldn't have Auer, and we'd have a decent spaceship game. I take this whole thing as an abject lesson. Eve used to be a worthwhile project to produce something like Elite in MMO form. I supported it all this time even tho it was pretty bad, like supporting your favorite artist. Now they are swelling with money and going for projects that to me sound plain stupid. I won't give them another penny. And the lesson here is kiddies, don't pay for "vision" because vision changes. Pay for deliverable product. Don't play a game for years in hopes that SOME DAY it will all be good, because chances are it will turn out like Eve. If you are not having fun in Eve right now, right this minute, don't even bother paying in, it's never gonna be what you think it is. The game 4 years was better than today. I don't even know what to call this now, it's not a space sim, it's some kind of mush with space in it.
