These guys had a cool thing going, but as far as I know they are a dead corporation. I'd like to pick the brains of people who may have been there, known them or once hired their services.
I am in a position where very soon my group of thugs will have 10-20 (shield/Armor) logistics pilots online at any given time us/uk timezones 7 days a week. The thought has occurred to me to hire them out, but before I take a step in EVE I like to do a bit of research first. So here it is
True or False?
1. To my knowledge Logistical Nightmare no longer offers their services (and is dead) 2. What they offered was (and still is) somewhat of a unique service in the "merc" world. 3. Their services were (and probably still are) in high demand.
Any input and first hand accounts will be appreciated.
Proof Of Concept
(No we are not offering any service at this time, nor is this a merc for hire post. It is merely research)

They stopped running their service because they realised how badly neutral remote reps made a mockery of PVP. ~~~

Alas, the game is rife with mechanics that make a mockery out of PVP.
There is not really anything that we can do about it.

Edited by: Eternum Praetorian on 24/07/2011 17:52:39 TBH it could be boring as sin... but it never hurts to ask.
I'm guessing that they have been gone for longer then I realized and thus there is not much info to be gathered. Time really flies in this game, I remember seeing their members in local. I play this game to much ><
Oh wells...

Though the corporation is long-gone, some old members (such as myself) and a couple of affiliates still play the game.
1. Correct. 2. I don't agree with this. Any PvP corporation that can field a few logistics/hospital battleships can do this. 3. Yes; however, after many years of running and being part of mercenary corporations, I have found that demand doesn't properly scale with compensation. This is especially true for smaller mercenary outfits, or those who don't/can't take on 0.0 jobs. Many times, clients will have ridiculous demands, and are unwilling to pay more than the war fee plus a gratuity tip that amounts to less than the cost of the ammunition expended. Sometimes, I've even had people say stuff like "wut u meen pay, ur havin fun pvping so thats payment alredy?/"
So, you have 10-20 willing pilots. You can either (a) take on a week-long contract for a few hundred million and spend tens, sometimes even hundreds of man-hours camping targets in stations and/or trying to catch shuttles or (b) make that much money clearing out a C3 wormhole in ninety minutes, and spending the rest of of your time griefing bears and suicide-ganking. Which option makes more sense both in terms of economics and fun?
I agree with Spank. Neutral RR is making a mockery of PvP. So much so that it's my last fallback strategy (which, unfortunately, is required fairly often as enemies are rarely willing to fight with less than 5:1 odds). I prefer to steer friends away from depending on it as well, unless they're taking on an obvious gank, or the odds are too heavily stacked. Having a reputation for dropping fifteen Guardians on yourself makes it less likely that anyone worth killing will actually give you a fight that doesn't end with both parties docking.
There is too little entropy in EVE combat as it is. Unfortunately, I doubt things will change anytime soon.
What else would you like to know? I mean, the concept of neutral logistics is fairly straightforward. I guess it's more of a marketing thing than anything else.

I don't really get what suicide ganking has to do with Remote RR in highsec. Suicide ganking means that you (and most likely they, if you didn't fail) loses their ship. Neutral RR means that as soon as someone starts losing they use their dock hugging logistic alt(s) to deaggro and dock.
In lowsec, this is an even bigger problem, especially with dock hugging Carriers, right click -> Scoop agressed ship even if it's going down under your deaggresed carrier reps, dock the carrier alt and your ship. Risk free PvP at it's finest. ---

Edited by: Eternum Praetorian on 25/07/2011 13:03:51 Thx to commentaries from people like Destiny Corrupted and a a couple of PM's in game, I have pretty much acquired the info that I wanted. So thx.
I was just looking for actual accounts and I guess I got it.
From what I heard it is not really worth the effort in terms of ISK Vs time invested, but there is no harm in looking for new and better ways to entertain yourself. This surprisingly civil thread in CnP was unexpectedly informative
