Edit: changed the link to a tinyurl because the forum censors a word in the link itself and breaks it. Sheesh.
And yeah, EVE gets the top of the list. We're Number 1! We're Number 1!
Unfortunately, the author doesn't know that much about EVE; he picked some older scams that, in retrospect, don't seem like particularly big **** moves compared to recent events. Here at EVE, our ****s get bigger every day.
... wait, that came out wrong. Whatever.

EVE is #7 on that list, as in, it's in LAST place... And #1, good God!
If anything, the Second Life submission should be #1, because it involved actual floating ****s.

Without reading that link, and having experienced SWG and similar firsthand, as well as being a GM in an early MMO well over ten years ago (etc etc), I'd say EVE could fill several spots on such a list.
* boot.ini * the handling of the t20 scandal, by censoring the K-word and banning anything related the whistleblower, while keeping the employee * the most recent scandal, especially paired with last few years communication failures (the way ghost training changes was handled brought up a ****storm totally unecessary, because CCP are ******ed)
The original devs built a great gameplatform, which then has been twisted and distorted by greed, and more than anything, fail communication.
I'm puzzled why they don't learn, shouldn't be too hard to cut resources from *anywhere* to just hire one press-guy that could give them suggestions and/or realese information for them? Like, say, a community representative. That players feel they have a dialogue with (even tho it doesn't have to be that way).
But hey, what am I dreaming about, it's not like we used to have one or so.. that actually did a decent job.. -

While I feel for the people affected by #1 and #7, DAMN!
That is just pure gaming folklore awesomeness. And putting a bounty on his *own* head!? Balls of depleted uranium.

In which case, Goons would be the winners

Well, he got the point that the only real reason to pod is to grief someone

"The first time gives you all the XP and valuable wreckage, but allows the murdered player to escape in a pod. The second does nothing but shout, "Screw You!" with murder (which is admittedly the best way to do that).
Mirial was in a Navy Apocalypse at the time, which is basically EVE Online's equivalent of the Death Star."
I would say they don't really have a grasp on what the hell is really going on.

how about the one where members of NC sold supers to the people attacking them and those same supers were used to wipe NC off the map?

I too am puzzled why they don't learn. Almost all sh*t storms can be headed off with good communication.
Not clicked the link, but I do believe it relates to player **** moves.

I was an enchanter in No Tears, we were (along with some others) told to run interference outside, some people thought there was going to be an attempt at a party crashing... |
