Edited by: Rez Valintine on 26/07/2011 05:05:32 Preface: IÆve played this toon on and off since 2006 û he was made specifically for the Drake BC when it was released.
So I came back and made use of the 5 free days CCP gave me. You know what? I like it û in fact, I may renew.
I like how the CaptainÆs Quarters puts information at my fingertips; incursions, sov changes, etc û but what I like the most is that it adds immersion to the game, FOR ME. IÆve read many posts from users stating they can only get 1 or 2 fps or its slow and clunky û well to be honest, IÆm running my client on a $500 Dell paired with a 9800GT I scored on Newegg for $80 û 1600x1200 smooth as silk û all settings set to HIGH. Still - you need to standardize your controls though - you know, like how every other MMO out there does it? I find them to be clunky and annoying.
Then there is NEX û what I would like to see added is the option to add more character slots to my account, starter packages for any new alts I would like to create, maybe an account wide wallet û stuff like that is the sort of thing that I (I as in me) would pay for. I have bought character slots in the past when I played EQ2, I have bought special mounts and pets for my toons in World of Warcraft, I have payed for faction and race changes, more server transfers than I can remember û well you get the idea.
So in summary, I like the direction but I feel it is incomplete. However, it is much, MUCH easier for new players to get in the game and get started, which is good for me as perhaps I can convince some my buddies who play WoW to give this game a try.
But CCP, please, PLEASE û do something about your credit card processing û IÆm always getting flagged for ôunauthorized purchasesö or "fraudulent activity" due to the fact the transaction is taking place outside of the U.S., which in turn adds the hassle of using Paypal and a third party to get my account squared away.
ThatÆs my .02 isk
Ciao
P.S.: To those of you quitting: Think any of you can hook a brother up with a Tengu before you go? Thanks! |

Welcome back. Since you have been gone CCP has a new plan as far as expansions. They are rolling them out in increments now. Over all I believe it is a good plan. It helps them feel things out and not do things as half baked. I know some players want everything right now and do not understand the strategy. You will find there are quite a few trolls that like gasoline anytime they think there is a chance of a match.
Ya may wanna check out day four of the alliances tourney, CCP presents from fanfest, and some dev blogs if you want see the direction. We will hopefully be getting more blogs about the rest of incarna to come this year and the winter expansion soonish. Fly dangerous

That's why I created the toon - this was back when creating your character a certain way made the process a whole lot faster. It can also pilot T2 Frigs, SB's, Covert Op's, and BS'es - however, in a couple of days it's Tengu time and I'm tempted to blow this weekend's beer money on "getting 'er done". |

Yeah like releasing Captains Quarters with just one quarter (get it) of the races.
Or releasing a client that is extremely erratic in terms of compatibility.
Or releasing a client that doens't multibox.

Past has show that CCP has been extremely poor at "iterating" and such tactic is NOT A NEW ONE from them. In fact, it is business as usual. People who want quality content in sizeable chunks are just being reasonable. |

I also latched on to this. CQ obfuscates information horribly. Waiting till incursion information randomly flashes across the screen? **** that ****. Journal->incursions.

For you, perhaps - but how long have you been playing? Where were the internal announcements other than being in the system before this? Sure, you have the answers to all these questions - what about the new guy or the casual player (me)? If I want to do an incursion I can park in CQ, chat with buddies and wait 45 seconds to know - if I want to catch up on announcements and contests, park in CQ. It's like EvE 1.0 and Earth & Beyond had sex and this is the outcome. |

Edited by: Lu''Marat on 26/07/2011 09:52:29 I totally agree with my fellow pre-posters, OP must be a CCP alt or deliberate troll, why else would he admit to liking the game. What nerve! And as if that wasn't enough, he also admits to having WoW-buddies. That's two big no-nos in a single post, buddy.

I personally cannot wait for all the bitter, whiny vets to leave. This game needs new blood and the tired masses of self-entitled *******s need to seriously GTFO and go play that awful Perpetuum game.
I happen to like the CQ, as limited as it may be. I would have liked to have had the choice to keep the original station environment should you choose to, but from what I understand it's coming back as an option. I don't understand what's so great about ship-spinning, never have. I also cannot wait for the rest of Incarna to come out, furthering the immersion factor of the game.
People complaining that it takes too long to load are just whining. Upgrade or GTFO. I'm running it flawlessly on a 5 year old machine. People complaining that you can't run two clients in CQ at the same time are ****ing morons. Why the hell would you want to? If you're going to run two clients simultaneously, then OBVIOUSLY it's for outside station gameplay, which you wouldn't be interested in the station environment in the first place.
I've yet to see where CCP called their player base the "golden goose". Maybe I missed it in the leaked memo, but I don't recall them ever referring to us as their "golden geese", nor did I see any evidence whatsoever about Eve going play-to-win. There were suggestions about being able to buy Aurum with PLEX and a few things about being able to buy back sec status, but I didn't see anything that suggested uber-ships or uber-weapons would be available only to people who could buy them with real money. There were a few ideas tossed around in that memo about the direction it could possibly go but none of it led to play-to-win gameplay; THAT was stated by the bitter, whiny players, in their infinite wisdom and the rumor they heard/started from their friend of a friend of a friend's goldfish's roommate.
This simply leads me to believe that the people who have ragequit will not be missed and their absence will only improve the community, as their kind has always done nothing but ***** and **** and moan about everything CCP does, when in fact it only boils down to them not getting exactly what they wanted. Tough ****. Go play Perpetuum because, frankly, the rest of us are sick and tired of hearing you babies **** and moan. |

Edit: PLUS, like you, I can't wait for them to leave. However, I also can't wait for the NEW FORUMS to be activated, as this will allow me to block every single one of them off my read list. Making the forums a much more positive environment to put my 50 cents in from that day forward.
I have a list already made of people who will get "INSTA BLOCKED"
Ferguson and Spank being the top contenders.
Absolutely. However, when I get bombarded by all these players with sand in their vaginas, it will only show exactly why we want them to leave and will have the opposite effect of what they intend. They seem to think that by them taking their ball and going home that we and CCP will somehow be saddened by their loss, when in fact the opposite is true: we welcome it. No one cares how many skillpoints they have or for how long they've been playing; if anything, it will only even up the playerbase. So don't delay! Don't wait for your time to run out! Go ahead and biomass all your characters in protest...we'll still be here to reap the benefits of what you're leaving behind. |

When I see posts of things like "3 characters with 100m skillpoints leaving", it only makes me smile because that just means 3 less characters are around to completely dominate the battlefield. When they post things like that they don't realize that they're actually improving the game for the rest of us by leaving. The good vets with over 100m skillpoints are the ones who can adapt to the changes and stick around to continually improve the game. If you hate the game so much, ****ing leave because we don't need you nor do we want you around. Don't go away mad, just go away.
Get back to work programming your game for Hilmar and stop trolling the forums. Please, please, please stop wasting CCPs time and money. |
