I just had a high sec exploration site esclate to low sec on the first step. I am used to going to low sec to finish them. But this is the first time i have ever had one go to low sec on the first step. Has anyone else had this happen? My question would be. Is this a glitch or working as intended?

I think it's just random depending on the original location. If you're already close to low sec chances are bigger the first escalation will be there.

I have been sent to low sec numerous times for escalations. It really appears chance based.

Was this exploration site a Cosmic Signature or a Cosmic Anomaly?
Cosmic Signature combat sites usually have multiple escalations with the last one ending in a lower security area. As far as I know, only the 'Hideout' combat site escalation will start and end in high security.
Cosmic Anomaly combat site's usually escalate one time to a DED rated complex in a lower security area.

It was a Lookout I scaned it down an ran in just like normal. The Esclation went right into low sec on the first step. I have had many eclations chains. This is the first time ever for me the first step went into low sec. I have had cosmic anomalies esclate to low sec before but they are just a 1 step esclation anyway.

It's normal, just had it happen the other day. It also isn't really a big deal, you can easily complete high sec escalations in full PvP fits, at least in my experience. If a guristas lookout, hop in a dram and get it taken care of without a second thought.

I've done over 70 expeditions and haven't had any Cosmic Signature escalations go directly to low sec after completing the initial site, especially the 'Lookout' sites.
Do you remember what the text description and name of the escalation was as listed in the expedition tab of the journal. Also did it continued to escalate after you completed it?
I'm thinking it's a glitch of some sort. Or maybe CCP has developed a new type of escalation for Cosmic Signatures. Like a one stop shop for Faction loot?

I didn't run the site i put in a petition asking if this was a bug.
The description is still in my journal (although expired). I will post what it says when i get home from work tonight. I will also post the response i get from CCP when i get one.
I should have just run the site but my cloaky ship was 23 jumps away.

Great, looking forward to seeing the text and the name of the escalation.
As for the GM response, I'm sure it was the same ole generic reply everyone has memorized. "Bla bla bla, working as intended, bla bla bla , please file a bug report at ...., bla bla bla."
If you do post it, only post a small part of it and don't list the name of the GM. Actually, I'm not even sure if that's legal.

I was just going to post a generic he said. "working as intended or not" I know better than to copy & paste a GM response.

The mission description reads "Without you noticing a small group of Blood ships slipp.." I got my petition response as well it said "This is within normal game mechanics" Our logs show nothing blah blah blah.

Blood_Lookout
'Following the Blood' expedition.
Thanks, If you've been doing a lot of high security Blood Raider combat sites and expeditions and this is the first time it's directed you to a low sec system as 1st location for expedition, I'd say it's not working as intended and is indeed a glitch.
Anyway, thanks again.
