It looks like there isn't going to be a "next QEN" precicely to avoid making this kind of information public. Why do you think that is? ... Return the Old Hangar Back... for Immersion.

If they can find away to make incarna run using far less resources.. maybe comporable to tanks or global agenda, and at least got some arenas going to shoot at each other and dance at the post office etc it could be start to a good feature.
If the engine is such that they can't run on computers bought for word processing (like your best buy 500$ special) three years ago it cosumes far too much resources.
Gaming computers are fine to give power players an edge when things come down to split seconds etc, but an average computer should be able to run games relatively smoothly... its not like we need resolution for the content elements.. its just a fancy tassle.

Here's a reality check for you, even without considering the ludicrous pricing scheme the NEX store was a huge success so far.
What data supports these assumptions?

Good luck with that considering that the recommended GPU requirements are "ATi Radeon 5750 or NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460." Those are not word processing GPUs.
One of my machines with a nVidia 7900GS, lots of RAM and a better than minimum spec CPU runs CQ at a whopping 15fps with all bling turned down or off. And forget about being to use the character creator with smooth movement. I chose The Door over soul crushing and valueless graphics.
I can't imagine the performance of CQ with a machine running the barest minimum PC spec. What on earth is CCP going to do when they introduce real-time avatar interaction? The hardware requirements are going to leap up to and past workstation-class gear if the current Incarna / Carbon version is any indicator.
CCP, with Incarna, has reset the class of hardware required to run the game reasonably well. How this impacts their bottom line and their customers' enjoyment of the game remains to be seen.

^^ This. ^^
The WiS MMO is a essentially a new game (that's being funded by WoD investment.) WiS is a new genre, requiring a new engine, new graphics, new interface, and complete set of new content. There's not a lot that the WiS MMO has in common with the Eve MMO.
WiS is a good idea in theory (expand the franchise, appeal to more people, etc.), however, since CCP has to build the WiS MMO from scratch, Eve players are (finally) realizing that they will have to wait several years for the WiS MMO to be developed and released with a reasonable amount of content. This wait would be fine except that Eve development has been slowed to a crawl in the meantime.
So the question is, has CCP developed the necessary software tools and engine infrastructure that would allow them to create and deliver WiS content in a manner timely enough to appease the Eve player base? I think the winter expansion will answer that question.

I think CQ is currently a disaster, but it could be fantastic, and the way for it to get fantastic is more iteration.
Do wish they hadn't broken all the lore though, by a forced out-of-pod experience on each and every docking. Completely ruins immersion, which is ironic, as immersion is the entire point of incarna. Well, that, and selling us ugly clothing and robot anus eye pieces.

Sad thing is they thought trying to apply the metric strategies of EA would bear fruit where a disproportionate amount of the player base in EVE are the crazies EA chose to ignore. EVE is a game for spread sheet masochist willing to spend hours to years to stomp other peoples sand castles, it does not lend itself to being responsive or supporting of something as vile and puerile as the nex store, people using it to goad and troll others is proof in the pudding.

Yep, and probably this is the easiest thing to fix of all the issues about Incarna. Cut down every price by 2/3 and that will keep us entertained while we wait for the next release.
Also would regain some hope in CCP's sourly missed comitment to excellence, as so far they appear to be comitted to botching even the simplest things for no good.
BTW Valkris, congrats, you're so cute!

It was much longer than that.
Edit: But yes, I agree.
Try about 5 Years that they have been working on the whole walking in stations concept and this is what they came up with. A whole new game where people pay to play dress up.

I like my door just the way it is... it's..... comforting..... Apparently, behind it I can still spin my ship and do other useful things with my ship, in the hangar, such as easily know which damn ship I'm flying at a glance, manage cargo bays, fuel bays and so on easily, and check what weapons I have installed without opening the fitting screen...
And we are now being spammed by in-game mail which requires you to pay a CSPA charge to tell them to get stuffed... nice... Ironic that the CSPA charge is there to 'minimise' spam in-game. So, in essence they are saying if you reply to this you are spamming us... oh dear...

Wait, what? You got spammed in-game (by CCP, I guess?). Please don't tell me you are talking about the -one- message every character got for the museum milestone.
Me, I really don't have a problem with Incarna. I run EVE on a reasonably current computer, no performance issues. CQ is switched off anyway because I don't need it. The NeX store doesn't affect me in any way I can tell, it doesn't stock anything I want yet so I'm ignoring that, too, which works just fine. I'm not missing any essential interface-options either, the only change for me is that I now have the "ships"-window open by default. And I got new stuff like the agent finder, which is pretty great. Alright, so I kind of miss spinning my ship but... meh, I'll live.
Looking forward to the next updates and expansions though, sounds like there's a lot of good stuff ahead. (nothing but "more rooms"? where did you get THAT idea?) Hopefully they'll get some of their more embarassing internal issues in check, but I'm confident. Wouldn't be CCP if everything went super-smooth.

I'd like to see your source for this information.
I take it you have a source stating that it isnt the case?
Dont worry, pretty sure CCP will plaster it all over their website or next QEN soon enough, triggering another wave of rage in the process.
In the meantime, just have a look around the local channels (or market hubs) and count monocles, navy shirts and goggles.
The burden of proof is one you because you made the initial statement.
Also CCP has stopped posting a QEN. The last QEN saw a noticeable downturn in the overall market.

The only thing this thread does is make the author look silly. It pretty much shows a complete lack of understanding of the game and where it is going. Yeah we get it, you can't stand change and you want your favorite ship to be a pwnmobile.
Sorry to burst your bubble, but change is inevitable, the more you fight it, the more ridiculous you look. Captains quarters are just the beginning of Incarna, there is a lot more to come. If you have not noticed, it is easily turned off if it upsets you. Also nothing has changed in the pew pew pew part of the game so you can go back and do what you were doing previously and please keep the whines to yourself.
Also trying to keep alive a myth that a lot of players are leaving also makes you look silly. The servers numbers do not lie, they have not changed. Learners permit still current |

Contrary to popular belief it is not "inevitable" tht all business will shoot themselves in the foot and lose money because they didnt understand their customer base.

Good thing you are not in construction or any other form of development business.
Incarna is fail when viewed on its own, but since it is the foundation for several other things .... same as a buildings foundation, useless block of concrete but have fun making anything work without it.
Question is where else they should have put it, I for one hate the thing but would hate a 3-4Gig patch even more.

seriously, adding a laggy, lightly detailed room to move around in every time we logged in was how dev time was spent? I don't know that many people in game any more (corp mates gone) but those I do know immediately disabled that nonsense as soon as they could. Where is the new "content"? you know, the stuff that keeps the game fresh and fun after years of play? its just sad to see so much dev time wasted.
