I will be forthright; I am bitter to the point that I do not know the answer to the question I am about to pose. Answer freely as only forum warriors can.
Question
After the Apocrypha expansion, has there been a feature added to the game that you consider to be a success?

For me, wormholes and T3 ships ruined EVE.
So, no ... Apocrypha was not a success.
I hope this answers your question.

Ah. I actually liked the wormhole thing; thought it added a new, weird thing that was sort of cool. But I get your drift...noting else?

...or feature what didn't break some other feature. --- This is one of the moments where we look at what CCP does and less of what they say. Innovation takes time to set in and the predictable reaction is always to resist change |

Only positive has been WH space (truly good work there, even though it's not finished) and team gridlock. The rest really sucked for various reasons.

So why do we want CCP to work on spaceships? Pretty much every single (major) thing they have touched the last years have been **** for various reasons, not to mention the "iterated" ones (turret icons anyone?).

I think the autopilot route display with the abilty to hover on each green or yellow or red dot ant have the system name come up and actionable is a really cool UI spiff that came in without fanfare.
The corp recruiting ads aren't half bad for the situations where they apply.

Fleet finder Right-click > clear all waypoints "Delete bookmark" in popup menu Alt-drag probes Noctis Incursions (although quickly going the way of FW) Pretty much everything by Team Gridlock New contract search Volume column in item hangars Reducing prerequisities for Hacking, Archeology, and a few more skills Agent division simplifying Shuffling the order of options in drop-down menus so that they mostly make sense Removal of learning skills Market orders remembering your choice of simple/advanced view In-game calendar Simplified corp/alliance standings and contacts Corporation and alliance bulletins
Just a few most people probably use every day. I could go on and on. ---

What Abdiel Kavash said. The main focuses have mostly been failures while the little things are what have the biggest positive impact.
EVE isn't like most other MMOs. We don't get tired of it when new content doesn't come out. We're not here for new content. We're here for this heartless, hostile galaxy called New Eden. You can't get that anywhere else yet, so I don't think competition should be the biggest thing on CCPs mind at the moment.
I do like planetary interaction, though it's rather simple and only has a handful of related skills. I think the best thing about it is that I can take a break from EVE and check in just when I'm resetting my skill queue and also reset my PI, and I'm still making some money. A little bit of passive income is nice. One thing that sets EVE apart from other MMOs: when I leave one of them, it becomes more alien in my absence and I don't want to come back. When I leave EVE for a while, I train new skills and earn more money, making me want to come back. --

I agree with you (and apparently the previous poster) that the small improvements are probably the most highly thought of by the players. My beef is that the players usually have to practically douse a Dev in gasoline and threaten them with immolation to get the "small things".
Still looking for opinions of game features that were viewed as successes (rather than mechanics introduced to fix something that was boned upon release)

Yup. T3 ships are a good one. As to the rest; yeah my nose is too wide and I mostly wear black for the slimming effect ;)

There have been a few promising things, but they should be iterated upon, as CCP always says but never does.
Example: T3 ships - with all the subs and other teams working on different areas of the game, CCP isn't really to blame they didn't roll out well balanced. However, they should have rebalanced them after a few months of seeing how they actually perform. Tweak some subsystems, give the legion a purpose - maybe add the 5th subsystem - stuff like that.
Instead of repetitive incursions, the sleeper-story could have been added more depth, FW could have been fixed etc...
It's always the little things that are the most useful. The main expansion features are always like someone at CCP takes a dump, some flies come to swirl around it as long as it's steamy and hot, everyone realizes it's **** and then it is abandoned.

PI and incursions were solid additions, although neither were nearly as massive in scope as Apocrypha was.
