So i've recently become a proper EVE addict, having purchased a second account which i'm going to initially fill with three PI characters. I may move them to lowsec eventually once one of them can use a blockade runner, but to start with they're all going to be firmly in highsec.
Of course the issue with this is that the resources you get in highsec suck donkey balls. I've been wondering therefore which is more profitable; setting up on a planet for a couple of weeks with the extractors set to 4-7 days, or sucking the hotspots dry in a week or so with 24 hour cycles?
Essentially its a question of whether the expense of abandoning the colony and moving my structures to a new planet outweighs the profit I make from getting a fresh hotspot to harvest sooner... has anyone had any firsthand experience of this who can comment?

I wouldn't go PI at all, totally not profitable. You should mine instead, or do R&D agents for passive income. Please.

Do whatever makes you the most ISK, which when dealing with High Sec PI has little or nothing to do with the actual extraction of PI materials.
Seriously, if you want to do High Sec PI figure out how to make more then you will extracting.
