Hello. I am very new to WH and probing and fairly new to Eve in general so please forgive any glaring ignorance on my part.
I have recently entered a WH to do some recon and see whats up. Everything went fine at first. Im in there all cloaked and probing stuff. Eventually I probe out all of the sigs and bookmark them. I flew on grid with a couple of them just to see what they were like but didnt initiate warp to most of them. Found a couple WH but didnt initiate warp. Once I got them all I logged thinking I will come back tomorrow and see what was left and what was new...
So I come back the next day and launch probes. I get the list of sigs but none of them were still 100% and warpable. I was expecting the sigs from the day before to still show 100% but I guess this isnt the case? I still have the bookmarks so I tried warping to some of the sites. Some of them are definitely the same ones I probed out the day before. How to know which ones are the old sigs and which are new without probing them all again? I must be missing something (or multiple things). I thought maybe the ID but they dont seem the same as before ( I may be wrong about that).
I would appreciate any help |

Signature IDs change after every downtime. If you have the bookmarks and you did not warp to those sites, you can drop probes on them and get the new IDs. Of course if someone else came in while you were offline and has run them...
So yes, you pretty much have to re-scan the hole every day.
Also, damn you're ugly!

2 things have happened since you scanned them down last.
the first is that you've logged (leaving the system will also do this) and all scanned items will zero out from the scanner, as the scanner/probes only apply to the system you're in and do not have a memory for previous systems.
the second is as stated above, the sigs themselves change everyday at downtime, and have a new i.d. applied to them. DEW-777 becomes KIA-321. if you're scanning and bookmarking, then also include the original sig i.d. in the bookmark name as well as the date/time (in eve time, alwaysalwaysalways eve time), especially if sharing. an example might be: "DEW-777 Ladar Vast Frontier Reservoir 08/08 19.27". when it comes time to go back to this bookmark you know exactly what's going on, and if you have multiple sigs of the same type it saves many headaches of 'which is which'?
the next time you go back to the system after a downtime or log off, you can put out your 1 probe (no need to be fancy), at it's 1 or 2 au scan radius and park it next to the bookmark, scan it quickly, and get a new sig i.d. that you can change directly in the bookmark name. easy. :)

it's possible some new sigs have spawned since you checked them last, whether it be a new wormhole, or site of some kind. once you've identified the bookmarks you have, and whether they're still there or not, you can move on to the new ones.
it makes it a much simpler process overall to take just a touch more time in the beginning to properly tag your bookmarks if you intend to hang around for more than a day or 2.
fly fun.
