Anyone else notice that's CCP's excuse for everything?
Next thing you know we won't be getting a patch and they'll say they're translating it.

Guys! You are so impatient. They are still translating the blogs. Translating one version into 6500 languages that are still spoken is not an easy task. You are lucky we are even getting these blogs before the content they discuss even comes out. Gosh...

I think they only do 3 or 4 languages.
My guess is during the translation process one of the translators got confused by part of the blog and it was decided it was not sufficiently clear. So they wanted the blog author to repair it, but he was busy with something else and could not get to it right away, so it sat for a few hours, then gets fixed, then needs to go back to translation...
In other words, life happened while they were making other plans.

Sorry to disappoint you, but I live in Southern California and have a job as an Aeronautical Engineer. In fact I help build Ravens
As for what happened to the blogs, I was just guessing based on why I see things get delayed here at my job. It always takes longer than you think. The first 90% of the job takes 90% of the time, and the last 10% takes the other 90% of the time.
CCP needs to do a better job in its time estimations, taking into account that is always takes too long.

Failure after failure, its amazing how CCP got so bad. If they cant handle the release of some stupid blogs how can they give good game content to all playerbase.

The extreme lack of any information coming from CCP is getting really frustrating. Can we please have an update on why its taking so long?

Did you really expect CCP to do anything they've said they were? Please... start learning by observation. Actions speak louder than words. What's the saying? "Pay more attention at what they do, not what they say."
Speaking of which... have you been to CCP's game site lately? See which game is tabbed last? Think it's just a fluke? Meaningless? Maybe... but I iterate -"Pay more attention at what they do, not what they say." Thus far I see nothing but failed mechanics, failed communication and a fail CSM.
Enjoy EVE, I'm heading off to jump in my tank.

Actually long before latest "dev blog translation trend" appeared, russian community managed to live without official translations of blogs. Eve-ru members always translated all texts within few hours for those who by any reasons can't read original. And now we all have to wait until some dude make this translation, then other one approve and post it. Evil CCP bureaucracy machine in action <_<
FFS post original first then add translations.

Maybe it is just me.
I remember the inside of the bar and walking around it that was showed during one fan fest. Then I heard a rumor that CCP was forced to can all that work because of a technical Issue. If I was CCP this would have ****ed me off to no end.
It has also been stated that CCP is now looking to finish DUST and get it out next summer and kick off WOD shortly after that. Which means a loins share of the man power will be working towards those goals for awhile.
So it comes down to what can be done with the man power left. Truthfully not much, if my guesses are correct. Not that it is a problem for me it just would be nice to know. Why work the fan base up with dreams of the next expansion if it isn't going to happen.
Hmm PR funny I don't remember hearing much about PR in the past few years. And now it seems to be a common word. Everything is going through PR now. New office or different people, it feels just different now.
Hilmar even seemed a bit stressed or stretched, bit of both maybe at the last fan fest. He just wasn't grinning ear to ear like he was in previous years.
Either way realistic expectations from the fan base might be in order. I would rather expect a year of patches then expect the world and get nothing. |

I'm still hoping for late august release for other CQs.
Lately SiSi has got some updates for files relating to other CQs, so I'm hoping that means CCP is actually working on it

I just want to know When we will get a multiplayer station environment?
Keen to understand when all these Nex store items that are beeing pushed so much will actually be useful to the people that bought them.
I HATE the CQ currently, but I think a multiplayer station interaction will enhance Eve as a whole. --- Jint Hikaru - Miner / Salvager / Explorer / SpaceBum I can tell you that this is one of the moments when we look at what those at CCP will do and less of what they say. |

Originally by: CCP Fallout We have two blogs coming up this week (they are currently in translation).
Just over a week later, we've now had two blogs. Neither of which addressed any of the points raised by the OP.
Fair enough, one of them did give an interesting insight into where CCP would like to take the game in the coming years, but zero actual 'content' as such.
So, one blog about Null-sec, and another about Bots.
Are we due another blog today?

Originally by: Brooks Puuntai I would be more curious about a blog showing the % of active players who actually have CQ disabled. This would show a good representative of how much resources have been wasted and how the overall player base truly feels about CQ.
Ofc CCP fanbois would cry about how its not finished yet and to be patient.. We all know how well CCP does when it comes to finishing content or keeping up with maintaining it.
Alot of people call me a CCP "fan boy" but i can tell you before CQ came out i said out right in the test server feedback section that CQ is nowhere near ready and could not even be considerd content for an expansion untill the other CQ's where finished, but yea, we all know how that went.

Okay, just got out of a meeting and I can share some general information with you guys. But first, I just wanted to thank you all for being patiently impatient *big grin*
We will have more information regarding our August patch (Incarna 1.1) soon, but I don't yet have a date for when an announcement will be made. I know you guys hate when I say such things, but know that getting more information out to you as soon as possible is of paramount importance to us. I will take part in another meeting tomorrow on this very topic!
Next week our EVE design teams will be meeting to do release planning for Winter 2011. We should have a roadmap for the next major phase of EVE's development, and right after that, the myriad scrum teams will begin working on their various projects and features. From experience, it will take a month or so for blogs to start rolling out, so it's possible that we will start having Winter-related blogs towards the end of September, hopefully sooner.
Keep in mind that when I say things like this regarding generalities about when we will get information out to you guys, it's not set in stone; it can be sooner, or a little later, but getting the information out to you is one of Community's most important tasks.
