I have been playing for a few months now i have 2.6 million skill points, 1.1 of which are in gunnery.
I have recently got a friend into the game and got him up to level 4 missions pretty quickly. He has 880,000 skill points 95,000, the rest are in spaceship command mainly.
We are both running BC, i am running a hurricane active tanking build, with artillary cannons, t2 cap rechargers, afterburner, 4 active resists according to incomming damage and 2 armor reppers.
My friend is basically running the same set up with a harbringer and beam lasors. He is also using 2 active 2 passive resistances due to cap restraints.
We are both also running 3 rigs. Mine being 10%+ power rig and 2 15%+ cap recharge rate. he is using 3 15%+ Cap recharge rate rechargers.
My question is, will we be able to co-op level 4 missions without getting our ships destroyed. My main concern is that we jump into the mission and the first thing that happens is we get warp scrambled, cant escape and we have to start back on level 3 missions again :P
Our general plan is to keep then at range of 35km and kill all the frigates using the warp scramblers first and then move onto the rest..
If you interested the mission is

Any help or advice would be very much appreciated. I really just want a yes or a no as to whether we will live or not.
I read a post about a person taking in a battleship to a similar mission and being wiped out in 30 seconds due to low skills and this worries me :(

Took me a few minutes to get what you meant about moving your tanking to high slot. How many high slots are you suggesting we give up for RR ? Also are we still going to be using the regular low slot repair bots or are we gonna trade them out for more resistance ?
I like the idea of using the high slots for repair because as my friend has low skill points he isnt doing that much dps....perhaps using myself for tanking and setting him up with quite a few RR would benefit us both in the long run.
Thx for all the helpful responces and info btw :)

Each of you hop in one of those and rep each other. 877 DPS vs. Guristas. Swap hards for mission specific and keep your drones on the same target to bring it down quicker
Are you suggesting a purely drone based damage system ? I cant see them kicking out enough dps especially with the low skills that my friend has...Also niether of us are gallente i was under the assumption that cross training was not advised ?

I have decided to go for the RR option but not as extreme as some of the suggestion above. As my friends damage is low i am going to get him to fit 2 RR and keep the rest of his weapons as is. As he has low damage i am going to take out all his resistant plates and self repair low's in exchange for equipment that will increase his dps.
I have looked for the past hour trying to find a dps fitting for a harbringer and all i can find is pvp build. Can anyone tell me what i should have my friend fit in the low slots. And please do not post t2 items. We can work towards them but for now will be using t1 :)
Im thinking heatsinks and possiby something to increase tracking speed. In all honesty i do not no all the of the equipment which is available.
Finally am i right in assumning that as long as i jump in first i will always have all the aggro. I will be pulling all addition groups before he starts dpsing ofc.
Thanks again for the info learning alot via this thread. |

Will do, might still give him 2 remote repairs and keep him all his lows as resistance and self repair. In our experience he never gets attacked but we will see soon enough :)

Gonna take the advice above with a few modifications. Gonna stick 2 RR on the harbringer sacrificing 2 weapons, and im gonna change the fitting to 2 resistance slots, 1 self repair and 3 heatsinks. Hopefully this will up his dps so its worth bringing him along. With the resistance and self repair he should be able to keep himself long enough for me to get the targets off him. Im also gonna keep the rigs as they were before as i think he needs the extra cap if he is going to be repairing me :)
Will do a few missions and get back to you guys on the result :P
Got a few other questions while im here just trying to get them all out of the way while i have an audience :)
I was in the LP store today and was checking our the faction reppers and such and discovered that they are the same as t2. I thought this is brilliant i wont have to train for the t2 items now but then i looked at the price and it was a clean rip off.
I cant think of any reason i would buy 1 of the faction items over a t2 item appart from to avoid the training time, but surely you are going to have to train these skills eventually anyway ?? Is there any other reason to use faction equipment ?
Second question is regarding repair drones.
I spent alot of time there last week training drones up to V so i could use repair drones. Didnt see any message that they could be used on myself which i was kind of annoyed about. ANYWAY tried to repair my friend with them and found the repaired ammount to be quite bad. Do individual or co-op pilots usually use these or are they more for fleet battles and the likes where logistic ships are required.
As always thx for the info, learning curve is bigger than any game ive ever played before, which makes it extremly fun :)

Not sure i wanna open that can of worms just yet. Switching from armor tank to shield tank is a big step especially seeing as i havnt put many skill points into shield up to this point. I have heard that shield tanking the cane is better from a few different sources but seeing as ive armor tanked for so long i just decided to stick with it. Will keep that build safe and gradually train shield skills and try it out when i have the isk. thx

I am currently training level 4 mechanic and repair systems so will be using t2 armor repairs in 2 days. As for the t2 hardeners it will be at least 12 days as i have to train hull V. Also i dont want to spend all my isk and LP buying faction hardeners.
