Velgan Solo	Posted - 2011.08.11 03:10:00 - [1] New player here, currently playing amarr, caldari and minmatar toons, still trying to decide which I like best. Was wanting to crosstrain to fly some of the gallante ships, which of the 3 I have so far would be best for that?
Dub Step Minmatar Death To Everyone But Us	Posted - 2011.08.11 03:30:00 - [2] Amarr character: The armour skills directly translate to Gallente but the Lasers do not. There's a couple of Amarr drone bonused ships and that crosstraining will also help. Caldari: While shield buffer Gallente are popular in some circumstances, you will still need to train armour tanking skills. Any hybrid skills you train will be useful on both Gallente and Caldari ships. The missile skills, HAM at least will be useful for the Lachesis. Rockets for some of the frigates and the Eris (Interdictor). Minmatar: Minmatar ships have both armour and shield tanks so crosstraining to Gallente would require boosing Hybrids but any armour training will directly benefit the Minmatar side too. Overall, Caldari/Gallente sounds good on paper since the Hybrids work for both but Gallente/Minmatar is probably better as this gives you access to Serpentis and Angel faction ships which are superb, as well as already having some armour tank skills trained depending on the Minmatar ships you have been flying.

Blasters are useful for PVP on several hulls but there are also Gallente ships that people often will put Autocannons on instead. The most obvious (and REALLY good) one is the Myrmidon.
