a long time ago there was talk of fighter size mining bots.
I would love to see a carrier based capital mining ship with fighter sized drones able to mine amazing amounts of empire based ore in null sec. But stupidly not effective vs the null sec ores
would a Tech 2 Carrier work in this case- only the mega rich miners could afford to build.
this way the empire ores can be in supply to ensure null sec stays self relyant. And also gives another capital ship in Null sec for roaming gangs to hunt down.
This will leave the tech 2 mining barges strong with their specialties. |

I play eve for the social amount of it and really don't mine to mine the empire or for my corp. Just mining in the belts is too risky. I would love to be able to scan down some hidden empire or belts in Null sec so when I have a red in system I have a chance to get out while he scans my belt down before he jumps me..
as it sits now we just min in high end belts flipping them over and over again. resulting in more Null sec ore than I know what to do with.
I know there is the process of compressing etc. but I would like to be able to do the build a ships with components collected with in 100AU. be more Null sec self seficient.(sp) here we go again! |

I would like to see the change in mechanics - in null sec you can **** a larger quantity of anything in Null sec, You are able to bring out the bigger ships. Capital Mining ships where a big boy can mine massive low end ores and the more t2 ships are able to strip the high end stuff.
But make refining the large quantities highly waste full as in the while west we don't have the minimum wage laborers willing to work to squeeze the last ounce of mineral out of every ore. Make the Out posts un able to get perfect refining, Closer to that of POSes.
This will spure on a secondary market of people who will buy ore, compress it and fly it down to empire to refine and then fly them back out to null sec. and make some isk for their time. This should limit the old refine component market that has been a plagued eve for some time with people flying armor plats out empire to convert into empire base minerals. here we go again! |

Originally by: Obsidian Hawk Removing high sec ice, would kill a majority of the manufacturing / research economy. People use high sec towers because they want to research bpo's they also mine their own ice from high sec. If you removed it there, you put a majority of the bpo/bpc/manufacturing sector to rely on 0.0 people for their resources. WHICH I can guarantee you, they will not sell to high sec cept for some horrendous value.
WHAT you need to do is buff 0.0 ice, Example Blue ice yields 300 isotopes Thick blue ice yields 350 isotopes.
If 0.0 is higher risk, there isn't a higher reward out there for ice. 0.0 Ice should yield at least a 50% better payout especially with the poor refineries out there. Ex. Thick blue ice should yield 450 isotopes for 0.0 mining rather than 350.
Better yet here is an idea for ice.
Highsec - base line - 300 isotopes per unit low sec - 25% better - 375 isotopes per unit 0.0 - 50% better - 450 isotopes per unit.
This makes a better benefit for 0.0 miners and low sec miners, and leaves high sec unchanged so people wont complain**.
** Note on complaining. People will still complain anyway.
I like this Idea - the in null sec the mining of Dark Glitter is worth more than Archnor per our mined. The alteration of isotopes for risk security zones would be a good idea. though maybe lowering empire and increasing null sec bringing in a 2nd named ice into the game.
The removal of Ice from empire removes 1 style of game play the super afk miner so nerfing empire ice vs removing it would be a good plan. here we go again! |

I am partial to the idea that null sec needs to be a place of resource but little isk. This way null sec becomes a battle for resources not an isk crunching machine. Ships can be easily made and destroyed, desirable loot drops from npc that have to be brought to empire to be purchased for isk. Blue prints etc drops are made in null sec.
In Null sec space, minerals are easy to come by because capital ships are able to collect empire ores out of belts at an alarming rate, and hulks, barges mine the high ends the capitals can't All to make ships and module quickly and cheaply.
For those who want is must sell the effects from drops to those who are willing to take the chance and fly them from Null sect to empire.
This way in order to maintain null sec you need to bring out soft target miners to full your armada vs have pvp players just pve for a while to pay for a new ship, that is manufactured in empire and brought out to null sec to be sold.
As it stands, it seems, an alliance grinds isk in Null sec, to buy ships from empire. Totally robbing the need for miners in null sec except to mine ABC to change in to isk to buy veld from empire.

really like to see a pair of minerals exclusive to Low Sec, separated by empire ie Gallente and Minmatar like Kernite vs Omber. This would push some miners in to low sec where capital ships would jump the ore (compressed) to null sec. This should tie low sec into null sec.
Allow the Big boy toys to help clear the ore fast.
sorry the digression in to low sec. here we go again! |

Yeah, one of the potential options I'm considering right now (another is "do nothing") is to just change the makeup of WH grav sites so that they give you all the mineral types in approximately the right ratios. If you're building it means you can strip a site and have everything you need, while if you're just mining to export it's going to significantly slow the overall rate of mining due to people (presumably, based on previous player behavior and feedback) not clearing the low-ends, so the sites won't despawn quickly.
(The improved ores are mentioned because I'm explicitly including improved ores mined in nullsec in the overall calculation.)
This is an awsome Ideal! here we go again! |

I would like in null sec an ability to be able to tweak my mining every few seconds or so to allow me to mine upto 25% more than if I just let the mining lasers fire away.
Not enough to screw over dual box clients with running several hulks but give me reward for being active with the laser chosen something like: -->Modulating the Crystal Frequency with in certain perameters will increase yield -->Cycling lasers at a certain point will allow me to earn more -->A mini game played with in the mining stream that allow me to remove unwanted spoil so the ore I do mine becomes named ore or top named ore as I play the game of Asteriods with in the mining stream. Might be able to earn a special Archnor ore out of a Veldspar roid if I pay a perfect game!! But watch out for Drone gremlins with in the stream as they could set you back!
For those who want to just afk mine then they simply don't get the bonus and just mine like normal. This would introduce the Active Miner occupation though that some of us are now looking for as we are looking for more than looking at the pretty light show.

I know it was joke at fan fest some time ago. But I would have gone for the idea of Mining on the WII
Well actually a full body motion capture system that would allow me to lose weight and mine at the same time. Maybe in 10 years I guess for the PSX?
