Il share my 2 cents:
1- isk/hrs mining should be more/less depending of the trusec of the system, not the type of minerals, so having veldspar rock that yield as much as ABCs in a -0.9 system would help alot (yes I know ABC should be worht more but not 10-20X more), and also have more onf the low ends ore (qte in rocks), I remember too well when for my alliance we had to clear all the veldspar of 6-8belts just to have enuff trit
2- a T3 mining ship that could be inspired from the Tengu, call it the behemoth. a barge whit modules, so we could choose over defence/ofence/mining capabilites/cargo - imagine a barge whit 5 stip miners almost noshield and 2500m3 of cargo? a barge that could use covert ops cloak? or a barge that could use 8 heavy drones? Or a barge whit 100000m3 of space but 1 highslot?
3- a capital mining ship - call it Leviathan: 6 highslot, capable of using all the stip miners + the abilities to use the Capital strip miner: it has 2 mode, 1: harvesting mode- it can literaly tractor beam all the chuck of roids in a zone (2000m from target) that is less then(for example) 20 000m3 and chunk it in its cargo bay. 2- a remote asteroids breaker that would chunk off pieces of (20 000m3, what a coninsidence). we could need to process the chunk further before refining, of use them directly in refinerys and the chunk could be compressed too be the rorq. This ship should not compress or be able to use link module but should be like other caps, jumpdrive only, nice cargohold and maybe a industrial ship hangar. The process of breaking down the roids could event be done with missiles/other ships and only use the Leviatan as a huge vacumcleaner.

So, as much as I'd like to see more ships added to the game I think the least needed class of ships to be expanded are barges/exhumers.
true =/ didnt thin about highsec but I do think barge/exhumer could be a litle more resilliant it ****es me off to get blown up so fast, plus barge/exhumers are worth alot of point in KB compare to the challenge of blowing one up.

A T3 mining barge would be nice, but it should not surpass any exhumer in terms of yield. It could be a combination of the existing exhumers though ... i.e. with the following offensive modules: - 3 high slots + ore bonus from hulk (i.e. same ore yield as hulk, but less ice) - 2 high slots + ice bonus from mackinaw (i.e. same ice yield as mack ... and yes, mack layout is broken, since there is no decent way to fit it with 2 ice upgrades) - 1 high slot + mercoxit bonus from skiff (i.e. same mercoxit yield as skiff) - 5 high slots + bonus for gas harvesters but no strip miners!
Of course, the remaining modules could make the T3 barge surpass, e.g. in terms of tank but not in terms of yield.
Covert Ops cloak could come along with the "defensive" module but without adding another high slot.
Why not? The T3 cruisers surpass the T2 cruiser on some point (depending on how you assemble them) the T2 surpass the T1, its should be the same.
Why should the hulk stay the ship with the most yeild?
I agree that if you have more mining power then a hulk you should have a drawback, not as much defence or less cargohold, slower movement or I dont know. I dont want to see a mining ship that is 300% better in all point, that would be redicule. But to say that the hulk should never be surpassed as the best yield mining ship.. no. |

Well create a new class but use the tactical cruiser model just 3-5time bigger and some qucik change to the skin.
we could also have some racial bonus to them =P

Lucrative - I agree with alot of ppl, if we make a way to get more minerals faster price will drop. Some way I see to make mining more profitable would be to obsolete bot/multi-account mining. a AFK miner should not be able to mine as much as a present miner. That way we should see a decrease in mineral availability then a rise up in mineral price.
Right now its too easy to use macro to mine.
quick question : what would happen if barges/exhumer would have barely enuff cargohold for 1 1/2 cylce of 1 gun.
ppl would have to resort to Jet can mining or use a corporate hangar ship or what I used to do, jet can transfering (keep a jet can empty and transfer minerals to the indy) when I was mining with my cormoran.
Random Ideas:
Shorter strip miner cycles (15sec example) adjust yield so we get the same qte of minerals per min
small exhumer/barges cargohold (500-2000m3) - we now will need to empty it every 30-45sec, no more AFK mining and bot mining become harder at least less lucrative.
ways to maybe refine certain high ends ore into low end minerals
i would like to see hidden belt not having a 200k unit spodumain but a 1-3mil unit veld

Don't forget people that like to read a good book while mining. Or that have kids that need a minute or 2 attention every now and then. That also goes for ice mining : I sometimes enjoy it just to sit in the ice belt and every 5-6 minutes I move the ice from my cargohold to my orcas hold. Meanwhile I watch a movie or read a book or play with my kid.
Why would a afk miner be able to mine as much as a active / present miner?
im curious to know how much mineral is mined that way (i wouldnt be supprise that 99% of highsec mining is afk mining)
Why do we AFK mine? bc its boring and easy to do

We could have a equivalent of a killboard for Miners, showing how much minerals where mined, how much dmg recived while mining and making it so that the multiboxers could register theyr account as one.
plus I readed earlier in this post a achivement progress for a mining op (like progress bar to show how much more minerals is needed to attain a goal) i would love to see that and event have personnal mining goals
I would also like to see a way to easy track who mined how much of wath mineral in my fleet (like a loot log)
we could also have a progress bar being displayed on the ammoutn needed in certaint containers (corp hangar or even a mineral hangar that anyone can dump in it whit logs)
other point: I wish to have a log of in/out on corp hangar so we could know who dropped 50k unit of bistot and who took it out.
