Any solid fit from someone who experienced before Incursion sites in a navy geddon ?
/edit : another question , should i bother with dps drones (i have all t2 except sentries , with lvl 5 support skills), or i should load drone bay with ecm drones in case i need fast gtfo ?

If you're amarrian I'd say your best bet is a paladin. Next up is the bhaalgorn. After that the guardian. After that... everything starts to blend together. |

i`m not amarrian ... i just got a navy geddon and i wanted to see if it`s any good or i sell it ^^
So ... if it`s armor gang , what should i try ? All racial BS V , Marauder lvl 3 , all t2 guns and perfect support skills .

First off, if you have the choice, go shields, because there is a much larger community for it and you'll have a much easier time finding a fleet. If I had to make a rough list of sought after incursion DPS ships it would be something like:
Nightmare > Vindi(armor or shield) > Paladin > Bhaalgorn > Macharial > Stuff with web bonuses > Everything else. |

That said, the Legion and Absolution are at least worth looking at, because their medium turrets don't require webbing the way that large turrets do. This lets them use their higher scan resolution to snipe targets out from under more battleship heavy fleets.
The problem is that these ships have also range issues that prevent them from sniping ships on approach, which really only lets them run NCOs efficiently. In this respect, the Legion is preferable because of its range bonus.

What's you'll get is bigger drone bay, a nice well rounded hit point buffer on all 3 layers, a 4th mid (hot!!), better sensor strength and a *****ing fine paint job. Otherwise it's the same deal as the plain 'geddon; same bonuses, same T1 resists scheme and same wishful capacitor.
Just saying, mate. What kills the geddon will probably kill the navy one just the same.

The irony here is not only have I stopped my 6 boxing shenanigans, but I've only just started to run incursions again, so I wasn't even sort of sure whether or not my list was accurate :D Last time I ran incursions full time every vanguard kept getting left with 7 OTAs because nobody could run them well >_> |

Edited by: Aamrr on 15/08/2011 20:05:45 The issue with OTAs is range. The first mission-critical wave spawns at about 60km. The second, at 70. The last one, thankfully, is only about 35. By the time the target gets into range for large blasters or medium turrets in general, it's already dead.
Ideally, you'd use Nightmares and Bhaalgorns loaded with Tachyons, but this is hardly reasonable for the NMCs or especially NCOs where you do have to shoot frigates.
Long story short? Scorch is your friend. Ridiculous falloff bonuses are an imperfect but workable substitute.

Cambarus' argument of going shield is nonsense. The armor community is easily big enough for making it easy to find fleets. Only disadvantage of armor might be that its harder to do mom sites, but you dont really want to join those anyway.
The navy geddon is a decent ship, but not really THAT good. You can just as well fly an abaddon. Good armor ships to fly for incursions are the Paladin (number 1), bhaalgorn, vindicator, oneiros, guardian and legion.
Anyway, this is a pretty solid navy geddon fit for incursions:
[Armageddon Navy Issue, Incursion] Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II Imperial Navy Heat Sink Imperial Navy Heat Sink Tracking Enhancer II 1600mm Reinforced Rolled Tungsten Plates I Armor Thermic Hardener II Armor Kinetic Hardener II Armor Explosive Hardener II
Tracking Computer II, Tracking Speed Tracking Computer II, Tracking Speed True Sansha Stasis Webifier Sensor Booster II, Scan Resolution
Mega Pulse Laser II, Imperial Navy Multifrequency L Mega Pulse Laser II, Imperial Navy Multifrequency L Mega Pulse Laser II, Imperial Navy Multifrequency L Mega Pulse Laser II, Imperial Navy Multifrequency L Mega Pulse Laser II, Imperial Navy Multifrequency L Mega Pulse Laser II, Imperial Navy Multifrequency L Mega Pulse Laser II, Imperial Navy Multifrequency L [empty high slot]
Large Anti-EM Pump I Large Energy Metastasis Adjuster II Large Energy Discharge Elutriation II

Needs another heatsink. I suggest dumping the active hardeners and going with EANM's and a DCII, you get pretty similar resists in the end with fewer slots used. They are lower, don't get me wrong, but they aren't that much lower and are still sufficient assuming you have a legion alt parked off grid somewhere. In any case, the navy geddon is pretty solid at just about everything you could want a BS to do. It doesn't have the paladin's web bonus and trying to slap tachyons on it is probably a bad idea. But in the standard MPII setup, it's very solid. It's one of the highest dps ships in the game and as long as you have something else to take care of most of the webbing, it's an excellent dps boat. It's reliance upon sentry drones for a large portion of it's dps means it will suffer in any situation where mobility is required, but that isn't a huge issue in pve typically. Given they cost around 300M instead of 800M for the paladin, I'd say it's an excellent choice if you have the drone skills to go with it.

Maybe you should retry replying when you actually got some xp in incursions.

3 fed navy webs and it's as good as pally, actually could have more dps than nightmare / pally (5 sentries, 9.33 effective guns) than pally since most ppl fly with marauders lvl4. it's only weakness might be slightly worse capacitor for otas -> fit heavy faction nos in 8th slot and you should be fine. tested in many incursions, this ship is awesomesouce if someone knows how to fit it.

rapidly a lot of people seem to be realizing web range is not important after the 20-25km mark.. web strength however is important. 2x60% fed navy webs with a fleet booster is literally all you need, then you can have a fleet of 4xvindi 1500dps, 4xmach 1100dps 2xguardian.

That fleet would suck.
The thing with webs is that it doesn't immediately brings ships to a stop, they decelerate. That why you want a cruiser with good scanresolution, so that by the time the BS lock the target they can immediately kill it.
Take the same fleet you linked, change 2 of the vindicators for 3-4 web lokis and you win every time over the fleet you think is so hot.

I fly Amarr ships in shield configuration for Incursions every so often. I can't say much about the armor side of things, but with a shield tank Navy Apoc is generally a better choice due to its range bonus. With a batch of heavy drones the Navy Arma puts out more paper-DPS, but you'll often find yourself having to use lower damage crystals to actually reach your targets. So in practice Apoc wins on the DPS side, has capacitor stability (Arma needs a NOS and some management), and also sports somewhat stronger tanking ability.
This is of course only with assault and HQ-sites, but both Arma and Apoc are pretty ill-suited for Vanguards anyway at least in shield config. Just invest in a Bhaalgorn if you're into VGs. For assaults and HQs, I find Apoc better for its excellent range distribution.

Armageddon even navy issue is worse than the abaddon.
This is my armor abaddon:
Imperial Navy Heat Sink x3 Damage Control II Corpii A-Type Adaptive Nano Plating x2 1600mm Reinforced Rolled Tungsten Plates I
Tracking Computer II x3 Sensor Booster II, Scan Resolution
Mega Pulse Laser II, Imperial Navy Multifrequency L x8
Large Energy Discharge Elutriation II x2 Large Energy Discharge Elutriation I
Hobgoblin II x5 Medium Armor Maintenance Bot I x5
Usually it requires webber assistance to hit frigates. Assist your drones to the loki. When you see them going after a target wait 2-3 seconds and then hit it with the lazors. Even though you have light drones most likely you'll kill the target before they get to shoot at it - they act mostly as a pointer(little drone icon shows next to the target the loki is engaging).
This abaddon does equal damage to a (3 heatsink)nightmare or paladin and more than a bhaalgorn even though it doesn't have the bhaal's webs so it has less utility. It has slightly less tracking than a nightmare but if that loki does it's job well that won't matter. It has no webs on it's own but if you want to invest in 2 navy webs -well it's certainly an option.
So do the abaddon thing before you do the navy geddon :)
