Hey guys i'm a little confused as to how faction standing works... I'm not sure if I ever really understood it but for whatever reason it seems that after the mission update a month or so ago it's gotten more confusing. I don't normally do missions but I decided that I wanted to give them a shot again. Before there use to be quality ratings for each agent as well as a certain type each agent was.
Anywas to get down to the point I've been trying to raise my amarr standing to do higher level missions in amarr...I've trained Diplomacy but this seems to be the only thing that affects my standing...I've been doing level 1 Missions in amarr space but it's not affected my amarr standing at all.
If someone could try to explain how faction standing works and how I can go about obtaining it after this mission update I'd greatly appricate it.

lookit ur standings IG, those are what you've earned doing missions or w/e. Just doing missions in amarr space isn't enough to earn faction credit with amarr u need to find the right agent(s) for whatever faction ur trying to get standing with. Read thru the agents and see what ur earning, it's prolly a npc corp or other entity. Use the agent finder tool to find the ones ur after, then start doing missions for them and u will get higher standing.
Look up the faction repair thread 2 it might give u more pointers.

Its pretty simple:
to access agents you need either Corporation standings or Faction standings for example: X agent for amarr navy requires 2.85 faction or corporation standings. if you have corporation standings 2.85 you can access This agent, however if you have Amarr (FACTION) standings at 2.85 you can access every other agent for any amarr corp that requires this amount of standings.
therefore Faction standings are way more important than corporation standings and can only be obtained by: storyline missions, cosmos, epic ark and faction warfare.
in short answer: get amarr (FACTION) standings to 5.00 in order to access EVERY lvl 4 agent working for amarr corps. its not very hard but it takes more time than grinding corporation standings wich raise after every mission you complete.
