Last night I did a solo level 4 mission called the assault, I did this in my Drake as it is the only thing I can fly at the moment, however the mission took about 3 hours and from what I understand the Drake is that great at dishing out damage, so i wonder if someone called advise me what I should be going for ship/module wise that would dish out the damage, I am Caldari so would want a Caldari ship
thanks

Raven is what you are after sir. Cruise or Torpedo depending on what you like.

Edited by: Hann Tuch on 19/08/2011 19:07:45 Raven allV skills with CMII launchers and 3xCNBCS with Wrath Cruise Missiles=>476eft dps. Drake allV skills with HMII launchers and 3xCNBCS with scourge fury hm => 489dps. Given that u do less dmg vs bc and below with the CM and the drake being faster id say drake is even if u fight kinetic weak enemies. Also its the best way to get into a tengu and u dont have to do the epic slowboating with the raven.
Of course u can get better dps with the raven vs battleships if u use faction ammo (600dps with wrath fury cruise missiles on eft, afair. i still am not sure if its worth it vs only 1/3[bs] rats), all i wanted to show was that the raven aint a bad choice until tengu :)
U wont do more dmg with the raven with t1 launchers and u cant push it with fury missiles so in order to get good dmg u should train for t2 launchers, HM taking less training time an being used on the tengu too:)

Just ran that mission the other night in my Drake in, I think, 45 minutes. Stick with the Drake, and get all of your core skills up to 5. Throw on a few Caldari Ballistic Control modules and make sure that you bring standard, Fury and Precision Scourge missiles. BS's go down pretty quickly with Fury's, BC's and Cruisers with standard Scourge and frigs with Precision.
Key is range.
Any frigs or drones that get within about 1k, take out with your drones.

Raven (cruise) -> CNR/SNR (cruise) -> Golem (Torps)
or
Nighthawk
or
Tengu
The last two can make use of your heavy missile skills, while for the first route you'll have to train at least cruise missiles, and later on torpedoes if you want to fly a Golem (which will do pretty brutal damage once you get in torp range, which unfortunately isn't all that long).

Considering sexyness, training time and damage projection and damage selection.

Nighthawk is a fairly easy Drake upgrade - similar tank, just a bit more firepower, and larger cargo bay. Not yet run into an L4 it can't do with ease.
