Glad you got it sorted out, my parents never used that sort of software, of curse I was, and still am, the most technically competent in the household so they'd of listened if I said that was the problem. Best bet for the future is to build up a reputation of knowing what your doing with computers so that if it happens again they'll believe you this time. ---- --- ---

Anybody wanna' start betting how long until his parents catch him playing EVE and start grilling him about how he managed to do that after he complained he couldn't, discover what he did, and cut all his privileges ? _

LOL netnanny, first time I hear of this. It's almost like being charged with a thought crime. If I had a keylogger or spyware on my computer I would use any and every technique available at my disposal to remove it. Wouldn't a fresh install work?
I'm not trying to sound condescending but would recommend getting a job and buying your own laptop. The key is to not let your parents know you have it. I don't know them but they may be ignorant enough to think they're entitled to install crap on your own property or monitor your usage for that matter. You should still use your parents laptop but only within the confines of their regulations.
Just before you move out get a washable marker and draw a big swastika on a living room wall. If they're going to act like fascists you might as well decorate the place so they know it.

Originally by: Eclipse323 I absolutely love EVE Online but recently my ******* parents installed a program called net nanny onto my laptop to monitor how long I can play and now when i try to launch eve i also get the message CCP Exe file has stopped working and it shuts down. it had never done that before and my parents refuse to belive its the programs fault because theyre kinda *******s.. anyone have any suggestions on how to get past this net nanny program or if it may not be net nanny how can i fix it.
Rename the eve exe file ?

Edited by: Meryl SinGarda on 22/08/2011 05:19:20 Load up homosexual erotica and set it to flip through random pictures and videos at an interval and then just leave it there for netnanny to record.
That should do it. Fly safe, Die hard |

doesnt net nanny detect when u say a curse word and lock the computer up? back when i was in grade school they had it, i hated it.
pretty sure u can in the process, or u could uninstall it when ur not on the internet the best thing u can do it delete the files, but leave any shortcuts or simple things on it, if they ask what happened be like " must have been a virus cause (insert virus protection) blocked it Eve online next expansion details |
