Having become aware of the recent incidents involving spatial rifts, and in particular the reports from witnesses that a stabling mechanism of some sort seems needed to safely venture through them, I would like to make a suggestion.
A Cartesian Temporal Coordinator is an item some may be aware is used in scientific calculations. They can be found within Sleeper drone wreckage and in these cases the coordinator is configured to synchronize its processing speed in time with the distance travelled between two points. One was also found alongside a Jovian Spectre recovered by Sanshas Nation. It is possible that these devices are required for safe transit through such rifts and have been used for such by the Sleepers, Jovians, and Nation as a form of interstellar travel beyond those employed by the empires.
My suggestion then, in particular to members of the Arek'Jaalan Project, is that a salvaged coordinator could be a useful item to have available if one were to be curious regarding what might be on the other side of such a rift.

SSTG7 Remnant next to such a rift while testing some holiday lighting.
Note that this WAS a research station so I would recommend care in these experients. Whatever happened there was not likely an accomplishment.

Indeed they were but they messed with the cloaking device.

Sorry for the troubles - it was the only picture of a rift that I had on hand at the moment.
These rifts don't turn up often. In years of probing and scanning, I have found only one. There was nothing much to be found save for a few rogue drones.

I myself have my own experiences.
It should be noted that these rifts come into existence when much power is applied. A ruined stargate would indeed bring about a large amount of power.
Perhaps a capital ships jump drive would be able to provide the necessary power?

Attempts to use the device in question nearby Nation created Unstable and Violent Wormholes were unsuccessful. My tests were cut short by a sudden wing of Eystur Rhombens attacking and destroying my vessel.

I appreciate your efforts and am sorry for your loss. The possibility of the device functioning with Nation wormholes was well worth eliminating. It remains possible that the device functions only with the spatial rifts similar to those used by the Sleepers in their recent aggression. Though it is also possible that we do not know how to correctly use a modified Cartesian Temporal Coordinator to execute a successful "jump".

Yesterday, during an incursion in New Caldari, there were two Unstable Wormholes present with the Sansha fleet that gave off the same intense white light given off by these spacial rifts. After several camera drone recalibration this effect remained. I have only a few pictures of it. There were attempts by other pilots to enter this wormhole, as previously only the Violent Wormholes, so labeled in the object-threat libraries of our overview systems, were unresponsive to traversal attempts.
There was some speculation - and there is NO proof behind this as this was only implied by other pilots and is hearsay, that the Awakened Infomorph might have had some involvement. For myself, I don't think so and I cite lack of evidence.
But this was very odd, and these wormholes did not appear to have any function. There were two of them, and this incident on the Jita gate in New Caldari.
