Why 31 days? Seam random to me. How about a queue as long as there is subscription time on the account?

I endorse this product. I would only like to log in once per year for remaps, too.

I'd be fine with this.
There are going to be those who suggest that such a change will lead to people never logging in. Well...so? If you're only logging in to set up your queue, does it really impact the game that you had to log on for those few minutes or not?

well, just for kicks, why not propose a skill que as long as you have a subscription. So if you run month to month on a PLEX, then each plex extends your skillque by 31 days and runs down to when your plex runs out. Similar thing can be applied to subscription accounts, the length of your que is the time before your sub renews.
However I think that a 24 hour que is enough. Infact, I think it has spawned a generation of pilots who do not experience the harshness of eve, they can just rack up 1,2,3,4 and not worry about it for 2 days. Whatever happened to constant attention to your character, those long nights to set lvl 5 going and what ever happened to the hazing which was learning skills. I want my masochistic eve back. -------------

They should revert it to how it was. No skill queue, reward the alarm clock dudes. Put a stop to these whiny *****es who keep expecting more and more. ~~~

already asked, they said no, cause to change skill it give us a reason to log in that's not wrong, but i would prefer to log in to do something more enjoying than switching skill xD
well i would like to have a 48h skill queue, sure we can put a long skill, but hell we all have time when we really need those little things, and we'll log cause we don't want to delay them again.

I believe it should be as long as , or close to the length of the longest skill bock takes to be trained , 31 days or one month would allow you to Que up two of these large skills or several smaller skill blocks , for those that are worried about having to log in more , i ask you if they are subscribed to the game what is the difference? making it easier for the casual player will benefit the game in the long run vs trying to control there actions is a negative action that will in the same amount of time "just push them away" at any rate trying to change someones chosen play style is just not the kind of thing to do , as they will simply continue to struggle with it or ultimately "find a new pasture to feed in" for those asking for a return to the Ole no skill Que at all I only have this "wrong thread, and have a good day"

I don't know. Perhaps 2 weeks would be about right. Enough time to deal with your standard hurricane, tornado, earthquake, nuclear meltdown, or zombie apocalypse.

if the fact that the skill que is the ONLY thing keeping the player base logged in then there is a much MUCH deeper problems then just a 24hr skill que.
if not then why not? hell it gives us anal ********s that love to have skill plans all set up to STICK WITH IT!

Edited by: Jacob Stiller on 22/08/2011 03:10:32 Well, from a cost control POV, I would think it would be any MMORPG's goal to encourage players to login as little as possible while maintaining their subscriptions. In practice, it seems like most MMORPG's strive to keep players logged in as much as possible. So, obviously, I know crap about running an MMORPG. However, I fail to see how 2 minute logins to queue skills accomplish anything other than create additional strain for the server.

Humm I'd like it to be something like 5 days because it is annoying when I have skills that take 2 days or something. |

A dump skill was the way to go. Had AWU V about 25% done by the time I actually focused on training.
All my skills now are all 22-25 days so the 24 hour queue doesn't bother me one bit.

Why 31 days? Here is a better idea I thought up.
Why not just remove the limit all together, so you can put all the skills you are ever going to train in the queue, also, make it so you can preprogram remaps in so they remap automatically after certain skills.
This seems much more efficient. R A I N B O W S |

Same here, like 90% of the skills I have are already way over 24 hours. I use the queue to make a smooth transition between 2 skills.
The skill queue is best utilized by a new player, all those little skills one has to train, you better line em up in a queue instead of checking skills every 15mins.
What bothers me is that when I go on a vacation where I cant load up EVE, I wish I could change skills from outside the game via the web page or something. I lost around 20-30mil SP over the 8 years just because of that.

I love the idea of an infinite or at least long que. Frankly I like to plan my character in advance, which I right now do on an excel spreadsheet and than I just have to constantly watch it and time things properly to make sure they line up like I want. It would be nice just to build the que, like a planner or something and let it do its thing while I play and not have to worry about it.
I never really understood the point of a 24 hour que to be honest. How does that positively affect the game? How would having a longer que negatively affect the game? I mean your skils should be training as long as your account is in good order.
So ya Im behind an unlimited que.. let me plan my character, put it in the bloody system and let it do its thing.

There's a way better system than a queue. You accumulate points over time and then you can spend these however you want, whenever you want.

Sure , i'd be happy with a 31day skill queue . PROVIDING that skill points are ONLY gained when an account has an ACTIVE SUBSCRIPTION .
None of this , set a 30day+ skill training on the last day of your sub , come back and resub when its about done ...........
Otherwise , its fine as it is .
