Great idea. Then I could just queue up a load of skills everytime CCP break the game with a new expansion and go play Perpetuum or WoT for a few months. |

I believe that current system in general is ok. It still favors active management of your player, but doesn't mess your real life too badly. However personally I would extend the que another 12 hours to give little more room for planning.
--- This is one of the moments where we look at what CCP does and less of what they say. Innovation takes time to set in and the predictable reaction is always to resist change |

Moved from general discussion but I will make sure the team responsible are aware of this.

+1.
A 24 hour queue is a joke. The original reasoning is pointless and stupid and inflexible. I personally think the queue should be infinite. With tools like EvEMon, we could set up a training plan, load it in, and forget about it completely unless we need to respond to "completed" popup with audio for some reason.
I keep going back to the fundamental philosophy of game design in which the game is supposed to be fun. CCP seems to ignore this, a lot. Maximize the fun, minimize the drudgery. Why FORCE players to interact with the training queue so frequently when it is NOT FUN ?!?! The fun is in figuring out your training plan, not in loading it into the queue. We should be able to load a massive and comprehensive plan into the queue once and forget about it until we need a change.
The other really lame and stupid design feature is the inability to queue up skills that need a prerequisite. We CAN queue up sequential levels of the SAME skill, but the queue is not smart enough (or the designers are not smart enough) to figure out that prerequisites will be met (or not) and therefore allow (or not) loading of, as an example, Gallente Carriers immediately after Advanced space ships III.
With any new features, I warn people to be careful what they ask for, they may get it; and in this case, it will be designed with the quality that CCP has become famous for.

the original intentions of the queue have been realized with the queue. You folks have the opposite of what CCP wants, you should play the game, for this reason the queue does not go beyond 24h. |

I like the idea of basing the skill queue on your subscription cycle. I pay for yearly subs so having the queue set out for the full year would be freaking awesome. Frankly I already do this using EvEMon and Aura on my Droid. The only difference being is I have to log in to make the changes every so often. I hate having to log in solely to do a skill change.
+1 either way. It was a good idea initially but 24 hours only seems to be relevant for the early and fast trained skills.
I guess another idea would be to increase the queue time with how much SP a character has. The higher the SP it can be assumed the longer skills take to train so a longer queue would be more useful to them. |
