So, in null-sec systems where you hold sov...
As far as I'm aware, the volume of m3 mined daily can raise (or lower) the Industrial Index in a system. The Industrial Index itself opens up one Gravi site per level, of an increasing size.
ie I-Index 1 = 1 Small Gravi Site I-Index 2 = 1 Small Gravi Site + 1 Moderate Site I-Index 3 = 1 Small Gravi Site + 1 Moderate Site + 1 Large Site etc
What I need more clarification on is Ore Processing Arrays which can be installed to upgrade a system. What do these actually do?
As far as I was aware, they don't affect the Industrial Index at all, but rather just open up more Gravi sites.
However, what size are these actual sites? And is it more of each level of I-Index that you currently have? Like a multiplier?
eg If we have I-Index 3, which would give us 3 Gravi sites, but then install 2 Ore Processing Ugrades, would that give us 9 sites, 3 of each size?
Can someone who understands this a little more please clarify things a little please?
Thanks

I'd already read that, and that explains the I-Index level. However, it doesn't clearly explain the Upgrades, at least from my perspective
Does I-Index 3 give three sites (small, medium, large) on its own?
What is different from a No-Upgrade I-Level 3 and an upgraded system?

As far as I can tell, and upgrade does exactly what it says it does: gives an extra belt.

The upgrades actually "activate" the index level. You can get the index level to 5 and without any upgrades installed you will have ZERO index related grav sites (you still get the normal random grav sites). The upgrades work exactly as you've described above. Install a level 1 upgrade and as long as you maintain the index, you get 1 small grav site. You need index level 1 to install the upgrade and need to maintain the level for the upgrade to remain online.

Industry upgrades when active, give you extra hidden belts. So you need to scan them down to find them.
At level 2 you get lvl 1 belt + lvl 2 belt so you can mine both. Same on higher upgrade levels... Si in level 5 youo have 5 garantied hidden belts you can mine. * Revolution changes worlds * CCP, players are watching, no empty promises. |

Each upgrade is independent of the others. So having the level 1 upgrade gives you the small belt. Having the level 2 upgrade will add a medium belt. Having the level 3 upgrade will add the large belt, etc. Thus, at level 3 you'll have a small, medium, and a large.
Having hidden belts does not "affect" the industry level at all. You have to mine an ever increasing volume of ore a day to maintain each industry level. And to clarify, the hidden belts are grav sites. These sites must be scanned down to locate them. The size of each site is listed in the report. --------------------------- Full Explanation of the Industry Index System |
