Why one jump clone per station?
I have 3 clones for different pirate implant sets, its frustrating having to find station, especially in 0.0 to leave said clones.
So i just wondered, does any one know why there is a restriction on this?

I think it's to do with legacy software. Maybe this could change, when Carbon catches up with the clone system. Maybe not, I'm no programmer.

I guess this is just about the safe of your mind... as being face to face with yourself can be a bit disturbing ;)

Jump clones were originally put in to "try" and facilitate the movement between carebear activities and pvp without losing the implants that high sec-dwellers were seemingly too attached to to risk in combat, and ccp wanted to drive more people towards pvp... before they sold their soul to the MT gods.
Flawed thinking, flawed timers, but nonetheless, the intention was at least a good one. You got to jump clones to one where you didn't risk losing your set of plus whatevers... and could jump back after 24 hours into the implanted clone.
It also allowed cross regional combat so you could spread death and destruction far from where you lived or earned isk.
Limitation is purely a ccp restriction.
More flexibility and a 12-20 hour timer would probably help their usage a lot more, but meh, sparkly barbie ****e and all that. |

95% Certain that Legacy code will be the reason. I'de prefer CCP wouldn't try to fix it though because we could all end up podded without possibility of reimbursement.
