Is it doable? With good co-ordination, what kind of trouble might a fleet of 8+ be able to get into? The risk of getting blown up increases, the total expenditures of ships and fitting goes way down. How many frigates could pile through that mass limit? And there any way it could be worth it?

Edited by: AdamusMaximus on 25/08/2011 22:14:16 im not an expert on wormholes but theres a way to see the mass left on a wormhole from collapse.
so id say a few frigs but always keep a covert hauler. only do this in inhabited wormholes...c3+ as the pve'ers in them usually pimp their ships, deadspace fit tengus for example, a few frigs could still munch through it tho every frig must have a small neut, also bring with u a covert hauler to cloak up at a safe to transports stuff and a scanning alt just in case. u only need to bring the hauler back through..u can just generally suicide the frigs in a wall of fire after getting a good drop from even 1 kill.
[Rifter, New Setup 3] Small Armor Repairer II Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II Damage Control II
1MN Afterburner II Initiated Harmonic Warp Scrambler I Small Capacitor Booster II, Navy Cap Booster 400
200mm AutoCannon II, Hail S 200mm AutoCannon II, Hail S 200mm AutoCannon II, Hail S 5W Infectious Power System Malfunction
Small Auxiliary Nano Pump I Small Auxiliary Nano Pump I Small Nanobot Accelerator I
8 of this could defo kill a pve fit tengu with the cap pressure and doin about 1k dps in total. also maintaining a good enough tank against missiles...any gunboat is easy to get under tracking. *Sol* > Charlie what have you gotten me into this time u fu.....!
*Charlie Fodder* > hmmm what do u think he meant Fundamentally Flawed individual?

Edited by: grumpyguts1 on 26/08/2011 01:36:15 On paper this looks like it would work, but he is not gong to sit and watch. So an OK fit tengu that runs C3 anoms will be capped out in 50s with 10 of these rifter fits, you then need to chew through at least 20k ehp, that's what you up against with all mods turned off, it will take you a minute to get to this stage, guessing you going to loose some ships before then so it will take even longer, while trying to fend of a flurry of missiles coming at you every 3-4s, and I doubt a rifter is going to last long facing more than 500dps CN scourge missiles even if the blast radius is 4 plus times bigger than the rifter. Once you loose 3 or 4 rifter's you would have lost your advantage. This however is all eft warrior and using a cheap t2 fit tengu with 4 launchers. So this will probably be absolute minimum. If I get time I will go see how long a rifter lasts against a tengu's missiles.
edit---- Last minute thought, you could take a griffin or kitsune along... that will change everything and make it slightly more doable....

There's no way to know the actual mass, but if you info the WH you can see how degraded it is from traffic. If it's on the verge of collapse, make sure your fleet all jump through simultaneously or someone will likely get left behind.
Pretty much all WH PvE ships will be active tanked, save for Drakes and Rattlesnakes, so some good neuting is vital if you want to pull off a raid.

Remeber to wait for the Tengu to eliminate the sleepers.
Once your frigs swarm starts to take sleeper agro it won't last long.

Lol, this. It'll almost be like ganking someone in that lvl4 toxic cloud mission.

Edited by: Meditril on 26/08/2011 13:25:45 Frigates are doable for C1 and C2. But will not work in C3 or higher.
Reason: I have successfuly used a Passive Shield Tank Wolf in C1 and C2, even solo. C1 is no problem at all. C2 is though since the DPS output of a lone Wolf (fully skilled!) is berely enough to break the tank of the easy BS spawns there. Furthermore, you are usually not webbed in C1 and C2, so you can speed tank with ease.
With regards to C3 or higher I can tell you: Just don't do it. First, you tend to be webbed to hell which usually means death for a frigate. Second, some of the BS are capable of insta-pop you, I lost already three Assault Ships this way.

C1 and C2 should be fine. C3 the sleepers will individualy web and they fly at MWD speeds. Sleeper battleships can shoot Hobgoblin II's from close range so Im sure they can hit a rifter.
You could fit a 100 frigates in and out of a WH with out a problem...Kspace entries K126 are smaller but still no worries for a fleet of frigates. Takes 12 orca jumps to close a K126 WH, that's alot.
Bring a couple probe setups and cloak em up or youll just get stuck somewhere.
If ur looking for PVP you'll have to have a prober and any one who has half a brain in a WH will see the probes and call for help before you even find them...then they wait and bait and hope you show up. Now there is a good chance you could find some solo guy in his WH and his corps away....Tackle, orbit, neut, jam, pew pew.

Make sure you leave an out of corp alt in the wh with a probe launcher, logged off. so you can get your pods out... lol
Frigs can work, AF work better, I myself use a shield tank wolf as well, with 300dps. It will bring the BS tanks down fine... Dual gyro, nano, DC and DMg rigs... faction ammo.
just scan every 2 sec while you are at work.... :)

In a c1 or c2, yeah I can see this working. Certainly no worse than grabbing people running anoms in 0.0 or low sec. Why not go see if it'll work ? In those lower end sites, there isn't much difference in fittings, so you shouldn't have too much problem actually killing someone if you catch them. Also, lower end wormholes means lower end content, and that means fewer people living in there to back up your target.
c3 or above, I think that it'll definitely get you hideously killed. Anything that runs sites has a good tank and is well versed in spider tanking and surviving way more dps and ewar than you can ever hope to do. They also tend to have friends in similar ships who will show up quickly from their POS. It's just not a great idea. Frig swarms are only good when you know that the other guy doesn't have back up.
