Hey there, I'm new to logistics and incursions, but I noticed there is always a huge need for logistics pilots in incursions. I've come across some decent fits, but I'm mainly concerned with the play style of a logistics ship. How would I go about learning to effectively fly one? If anyone has advice please help me as I'm very interested in flying logistics.
Thank you for the help.

just get the skills up so you are capstable (usually logi 4 for basi/guard and logi 5 for the scimi and oneiros) and that you can lock 10 targets.. then go do vanguards
It really isnt hard, i just jumped right in and started doing it. Vanguards are really easy with a mediocre fleet so it will be good training in itself. Thats all you need to do. seriously

for vanguards get multitasking to 3 or 4 so you can lock up the entire fleet for larger sites make sure your fleet window is open to the history tab and you're watching all broadcasts. you can target members directly from the broadcast window which is nice. if you're flying a basi/guardian you probably have to deal with a cap chain, but that's not so difficult either.

Unfortunately, logistics ships can only lock 10 targets, so there is no benefit to training multitasking above 3.
Fortunately, logistics ships can lock 10 targets.

I flew logistics almost exclusively against the russians in the north.
NO ONE, NO ONE, ever fits a signal amplifier to their logi. Your slots on a logi are far too precious to add a signal amp to gain 2 more slots. If they do , they don't know what they are doing in that boat.
Further, it is almost impossible to keep track of more that 10 targets at once.
It is best to permanently target 7-8 of the most important/vulnerable units in your crew (always, always perma target the other logi's and the FC), and then leave the other slots free for other ships that broadcast for reps, and some leave one slot open for a red target, but I find km whoring when you fly a logi defeating the purpose of the ship's role.

Not that I disagree with anything you're saying, but I think that Tippia was just being technical. That said, the only ships that I could ever see using multitasking 4 or 5 are marauders with autotargeters or triage carriers without enough fitting left to use their remaining high slot.
Can anyone else think of a better example?

Possibly marauders (horrible locking time + utility highs = perfect candidate for having an auto-targeter and extra target list) and the Noctis (more lows than you ever need, also horrible locking time + signal amp, to keep something in reserve when the tractors/salvagers finish their job).
And yes, I was mostly pointing out that there is, indeed, a reason to train multitasking beyond III. It's highly marginal, but it's thereà ùùù ôIf you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡ you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.ö ù Karath Piki

Ahh, Noctis. Of course. Thanks, Tippia.

If you cannot do this, do not try and fly a logistics ship. It's really that simple.
