When I'm looking for the warp-speed for the "interceptor" (any race), I noticed that one of them goes at warp 13,5 while the other goes at warp 9. It's the same for "covert ops" (any race), where one is a "stealth bomber" (warp 9) and the other a regular "covert ops" (warp 13,5).
What is the difference between those 2 "interceptors"? Can they be divided ,like the "covert ops", into 2 classes? _____________________________________

Did you try looking at their bonuses first?
Let's take the Amarr ships as the example. For the Malediction you get: 5% to rocket damage and 5% to armor resistance per frig lvl. You get 15% reduction in mwd sig pen and 5% to warp scram and disruptor range per ceptor lvl. Role bonus 80% reduction in activation.
Now we look at the Crusader. 10% reduction in small energy turret cap use and 5% bonus to SET damage per frig lvl. 15% reduction to MWD sig pen and 7.5% bonus to tracking of SETs per ceptor lvl.
Same role bonus...
Here is a big hint I bolded the important part.
If you look at all the ceptors you will see that one of the two in each race has that range bonus the other doesn't. One of the two is more for just getting the point on target and the other is for doing more damage or whatnot. BOTH can point as is the interceptor's main role. One is just more tailor fit for it. They dont get divided because their overall role is still the same between the two ships.
Does that answer what I quoted well enough for you?

Edited by: Aamrr on 29/08/2011 19:41:13 One is a "fleet" interceptor and gets a bonus to warp disruptor range. The other is a "combat" interceptor and gets some additional DPS bonus and higher warp speed.
I believe the intention is that fleet interceptors be better at tackling for their gangs, at the expense of offensive capability, while combat interceptors are able to operate solo and hunt fleet interceptors.
Edit: Wow. The poster above me was rather rude. It really wasn't that bad a question...

Perhaps, however what the goal of explaining it like that is is to show him that if he had taken a bit of time to research he could have had the satisfaction of figuring it out himself as well as the knowlege that he can do that instead of having the answer fed to him.
I believe in not just giving answers to people but leading them to the answer or better yet leading them to them finding the answer on their own.
Call it rude if you must. _______________________________________________ I'd have something witty here but my wits have left me for my alt. |

I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt and assume that he had looked, but dismissed the warp disruption bonus as being an oddity of the hull itself, rather than a trend for the ship class as a whole.
Perhaps I was overly hasty. I apologize.

it's simple - one of them has Scoty on board: "I'm giving her all she's got, Captain"

Why is Scotty the Docking Manager on board my interceptor?

he's a stalker, it's what stalkers do...don't worry he's probably got some nice greasy lube - he's a ship's mechanic after all, he'll "beam you up" no problem
