I'm hoping to learn the ways of the Taranis and I would like some tips. For solo how would you operate a Taranis? What can be solo'd and what should be avoided?

Good day, Fasire:
You didn't state where you will be flying (i.e. null sec, low sec, high sec wars et al).
If you are in low sec, I would recommend an mwd/web fit vs. dual prop. You'll also want rigs to taste as well.
Thank you.

The generally accepted guide is:
http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=1146401&page=1#1
The guy who wrote it (Garmon/El'Tar/Count MonteCristo/Resdayn) has many, many kills in it.

It's for lowsec. A problem I have is that if they have a webby and most do, there isn't a great deal i can do.

Edited by: Jaxley on 30/08/2011 14:59:22 Which is why your best bet is AB/scram/web. I don't know where Mara got the idea that MWD/scram/web is in any way viable in lowsec.
AB/scram/web works well with both blasters and railguns btw. I consider railguns to be even a bit easier to fly, even though I love to use blasters. With rails you just gotta see if you can beat them outside 5km and stay there. Blasters require more intel, as in whether you should load Null or can stay close using Antimatter.

Good day, Jaxley:
The mwd, scram, web fit is for killing Imperial Navy Slicers, and other things that would kite you.
For example:

Yeah okay, I made it sound like it was useless; what I meant to say was that you can engage significantly less ships and their setups (which are more commonly encountered in my experience) than you could with an AB.

Good day, Jaxley:
You are correct on the reduction of ships that can be engaged.
Thank you.
