We all know bugs happen, especially in MMOs which are generally difficult things to get. Given the complexity and size of MMOs the game company CANNOT possible catch everything. However you can catch a lot of things, and you can respond to bug reports in a timely fashion.
I just saw a bug go while today that should have never made it from your internal server to the public test server, let alone into a production patch. Especially given that users reported it on the the test server.
This triggered alarms in my head to see a bug like this made it to live. This is a bug that should have been caught by a standard test case. Making a fitting that requires an "All Skills Level V" pilot to fit, and see if it fits. This and some of the other UI related bugs (drones not listening to commands) is making me worried that you're not making a Commitment To Quality in your patches and expansions.
This ongoing degradation of patch quality, and apparently lack of CTQ in updates, is part of what is fueling so much player rage around the forums. Many players are angry about seeing fluff items arrive when patch quality is low, and add in that these fluff items are acquired via microtransactions you anger them further. This apparent lack of CTQ combined with the Nex Store getting items is what is making some of your player base ragequit. (for the record I personally don't care about the NeX so long as it stays cosmetic only.)
So, CCP, what are you going to do to demonstrate to us - the fans of your signature title - that you are going to make a Commitment to Quality in future patches?

Quality? What quality? What gave you the idea that after Incarnage CCP was committed to quality?

If you wish to participate in this thread I'm going to have to ask you to refrain from irrational raging and abuse. I am actually trying to have a serious discussion with CCP about them making a CTQ going forward.

You say that like CCP will: a) actually respond or b) not spout the same thing they've said to everyone else
However, if you do get one or the other, I will award you one internet and maybe a cookie.

I am eagerly looking for improvements made in this patch. I'm puzzled and lost. I can't find any changes. Backgrounds really not that big deal thing. API i don't even notice. New forums... old forums look way better so i stick to old ones despite that new forums have some nice features like preview of post text. And that's 1.1 not 1.01 patch.
Did it changed anything significant in game? Anyone notice any meaningful gameside changes?

A) CCP (other than Zym) sometimes do come on the boards you know. hopefully Zym refers this to one of them B) Being that software defect analysis and automated test design and implementation is my day job at a major operating system vendor (And i'm posting for work while waiting for some code to run, so they know where i work) i'd hope they actually give a better response to a software engineer.

the patch was supposed to bring CarbonIO to the client - which is huge. but they pulled it, probably because they found a bug. so it is obvious that CCP's testers are doing some work. they're just not doing minimum coverage.
i want to know why.

Nice acronym. I used to be an acronym too. Now I'm just a troll, apparently.
Actually, that's not OK. Up yours. I'm an STBP and I say if CCP are too busy drawing pants to get back to developing things that other companies haven't done to death and almost certainly better than CCP will ever manage, then they are doing the wrong thing.

So you'd think they would actually consider discussing serious things with someone who they know has an idea what they're talking about.

I'm sure they have their own guys and contacts to talk to about things like that, I'm pretty sure they are not going to talk to you over any other paying customer regardless of your work placement. Also the problems are likely not related to the operating system so you'll be as much use as a chocolate teapot to them.

Thanks for reply. I actually was looking forward to this patch exactly due to this Carbon I/O. Supposed to be real big time thing. Without it entire patch looks like.. hmm.. hotfix... no... eye candy website stuff without any meaning gameside.
I thought I missed something but it looks like it's really what I see it is. Calling that a patch is fearless.

How can we explore captain quarters when I can't check what's under my bed? I demand a new feature - I want to explore the space under my bed. May be it'll even be a low sec space and there are pirates, or null space and I find there a ton of supercapitals. This should be implemented in Incarna 1.11 ASAP as a new and revolutionary feature. I also want to buy a rubber duck so that there will be no danger of drowning when taking a bubble bath. Rubber Duck can be sold via the NEX store.

The ability to switch ships instantly after docking is rather jolly.
Other than that, I didn't notice anything.
Except that clicks still don't register, of course.

If you work where I think you work, you are a bit rich to talk about quality and bugs and automation, I know for a fact that it is as bad and even worse.
Which BU are you in?
PS: I am a blue badge too, been an IC and TL and probably have a much lower empid than you do.
You should take a look at your "postponed" PS queries, you will find MANY and MANY that "should" be fixed but aren't because of many reasons, guess you never heard of the bar raising comming up to RTM.

It's quite easy:
1. Ignore this thread and any other feedback from customers that are not obvious CCP alts.
2. Leave EVE on the back burner and compensate the loss of veteran players with Monocle sales.
3. Rush development of Dust and WoD to compensate for the loss of further Monocle sales once the Monocle-market is saturated.
I hope I was able to address your concerns. If you have any further questions or suggestions then please direct them to [email protected].
Also: What bug? The logs don't show any bug. It must be an issue with your ISP or with your perception of objective reality.

He is basically a new hire no talent hass clown that dances in his managers office waving his SDET CSP wanting a pat on the back to get to level 61 to get that all elusive II added to his job title.
SDET's are no talent SDE's. They try to glorify their code as awesome when in fact all it is is a script, or a model based on Spec Explorer, or some half assed API badly designed and hacked up. Always trying to please his manager to get that next forced promotion.
He works at Microsoft, as do I. I have seen the company churn through butt clowns such as himself. I don't know how he passed the revolving door, he probably does not even sit in triage meetings, if he did he probably would be a pain in the ass.
I thought we stopped hiring know it alls. I guess HR didn't get the memo.
Seriously, butt clowns like him actually make me put preference in more mature applicants not straight out of university.
He thinks he is the bee's knees because he works at MSFT, and now he goes around thinking he is the saviour and we're all doing it wrong.
What does he use? Probably a MITA wrapper around UIAutomation which fails everytime an ant sneezes in Korea.
