Anyway, subscription count and population averages have been pretty darn closely linked and proportional to each other in the past, so it's decent enough a substitute. ùùù ôIf you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡ you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.ö ù Karath Piki

Wellà there was a slight bump in on-line players in the first 2-3 days after the patch (compared to the same weekdays before and after), but as the dTbacle kept on building, it kind of jumped off a cliffà
That post-patch Sunday is particularly telling, and while the post-patch Saturday had better numbers than the pre-patch one, it wasn't nearly as much as the preceding days ù already there, the population had started to sag.
My point, in the rest of that post, was that the added resource re****ents of the client could have led to less alts logged in and less time keeping a client logged in while semi or completely afk. That would have resulted in less average logged in numbers even with people equally interested due to cpu issues and the desire to maintain cpu power for more vital things than idle logged in clients.

TRAGEDY
The tragedy is not that an online game is peaking out, the tragedy is how easily it could have been avoided.
Of course, we don't know. Just because I'm an unsubbed grumpy sod and there are several other grumpy sods on the forum doesn't mean everybody else is quitting and running for the hills. It's perfectly possible that in a month or two the numbers will suddenly jump up and the winter expansion will be amazingly successful.

People! people! Everyone knows that an MMO lives and dies with good advertisement, content changes, and 13-18 year old player base attraction. CCP needs to run t.v. commercials again.

We can all agree CCP hasn't increased the player base numbers with this and the previous expansion, an that the numbers are currently declining or flat lining. But hasn't anyone considered this could also be because of the current economic climate and not just the monocle gate.
In my native country alot of my friends have simply stopped playing because of prices going through the roof and thus they have to prioritise where their money goes.

A valid point but as we all know and as trends suggest, people find a way to keep their internet access as well as their phone/apps. Can I have your Vindicator? :D |

Look at all of you know it all complainers. Is it a coincidence that I don't recognize any of your corps or alliances? Not a single one? The reason you don't enjoy the game and you cry about no content is because you are all high sec carebears. This is a sandbox PVP game. You create your own content. DUH.

31k at this time.
pretty normal for a fri night/sat morning wouldn't you say ?
check >>>CLICK ME<<< top ten alliances, numbers add up to around 31k. but honesty does this prove only 10 alliances are online, figures are misleading at the best of times. also it's back to school season so lots should be MIA.
so we lost some whining multy alt running ****s, i don't think that's a bad thing

No, it coincides pretty well with a 2 month old character who isn't familiar with the game or with the people voicing their concerns. ùùù ôIf you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡ you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.ö ù Karath Piki

Originally by: Admiral Rufus CCP forgot what eve was meant to be and numbers have suffered as a result, the game is dying, there is no doubt about that and the sad fact is that if they were to roll back to apocophyra then the hardcore eve players that ccp abandoned might come back and help numbers climb again. All the CQ stuff is killing the game which is supposed to be about spaceships, not barbie in space
This is what i don't get. I started the game about 1.5 Months ago and did the trial about 3 months ago before incarna came... First thing i did was deactivate CQ because it loaded longer and i opened the nex shop exactly once for a giggle and closed it again. i find it crappy and i dont need it BUT it doesn't impair my playing at all.
why can't you people just ignore it and let the barbielovers have their thing? it doesn't impair your playing in any way unless they will bring items in which will alter skills or whatever but i doubt they would do that.
just ignore the cq and nex store and you still have the awesome game you played for so long...
edit: i don't want to get personal here, it could be that i am missing some key alterations because i am a new player...
edit2: coming from europe i never saw below 20k and max i saw was 45k i believe.
Your new so yes for you there is a ton to explore despite this "expansion" however for some of us whom have invested a ton of time into eve and who look forward to expansions for new content we find this one sadly lacking. Maybe if they released WIS in its entirety it would be different, especially if there was some connection to our beloved spaceships , but alas no the only connection to us in this expansion was to our wallets.
When I first stared playing the devs seemed to be one of us they wanted a cool game, one that challenged, one that was harsh, one that rewarded smart game play be it pvp, market pvp or pve. Now their focus seems less about the eve experience and more about their other games, and you know what that's not a major problem in my book. The problem was trying to shove their other games into eve, and neglecting their original game.
I mean hats off to them for trying to be innovative, but they have to admit that's what they are doing, eve players were extremely devoted we would have been much more supportive if we could see that we were getting new content as well. They did try, lots of minor bug fixes have happened in the last year, but there is still so many that it's clear that they are not putting significant resources toward it.
We now have to face the fact that eve is one CCPs back burner, and only being used s a test bed for their new technology and software. Tbh the best solution and only chance for redemption for them is to fire their PR, economist, and actually have the devs talk to us the way they used to.

This whole death of Eve thing is so very sad, it could have all been avoided if CCP would have listened to us.

Well DUH again. I've been playing Eve for 3 years. And guess what? It's the same freaking game as it was 3 years ago. IT'S STILL A SANDBOX. I'm personally happy that CCP isn't turning this game into WoW. I'm also surprised since so many people never leave high sec. You would think they would only cater to you bears, but no - they are keeping Eve, well, Eve. They haven't given up on their dream to move you bears into 0.0, god bless them.
This game is for low/null sec players. You high sec bears are just here to stock jita for us. Deal with it.
