Just informing you that anyone who uses a , as a decimal point is automatically wrong. In scientific notation, a standard, the correct . is used. 1.5 * 10^26
It also makes logical sense. Comma is a rest, period is a STOP.
$15,000.55 15...continue with thousand...STOP...55 cents Dollars and cents are split by the period, a punctuation mark which ENDS a sentence. Dollars and cents are separate. This makes sense.
$15.000,55 ok. WTF IS THIS? 15 dollars...STOP....1000 more dollars!?...continue with 55 cents...
And then there's $15,000,000,000 vs $15.000.000.000 Imagine the number as a sentence. The comma makes it like a list, of the one sentence/value. The period is stupid, because you STOP. EVERY. TIME. 15 STOP. THOUSAND STOP. THOUSAND STOP. THOUSAND
And, no, I'm not American. They're wrong with their dates, spelling and unit system.

Nin is hardly automatically wrong.
I agree that the comma used as a decimal delimiter feels odd and leads to confusion, however many countries use this notation as standard. When the comma is used as a decimal mark, the digit group separator can be either a point or a space.

I was referring to this part:
Quote:
In the Middle Ages, before printing, a bar ( » ) over the units digit was used to separate the integral part of a number from its fractional part, a tradition derived from the decimal system used in Indian mathematics.[1] Its regular usage and classification can be attributed to the Persian mathematician Al-Khwarizmi.[2] It remains in common use as an underbar to superscript digits, especially for monetary pricing values. e.g. 9995 without a decimal point. Later, a separator (ˌ) (a short, roughly vertical, ink stroke) between the units and tenths position became the norm among Islamic mathematicians. When this character was typeset, it was convenient to use the existing comma (,) or period (.) instead. In France, the period was already in use in printing to make Roman numerals more readable, so the comma was chosen. Many other countries also chose to use the comma to mark the decimal units position, such as Italy.[3] It has been made standard by the ISO for international blueprints. However, English-speaking countries took the comma to separate sequences of three digits.
The OP noted that he is from Quebec, and french is likely his native language, making it perfectly acceptable to use the comma symbol (,) as a decimal mark.

isn't it $15.95 for a plex? In that case it'd cost 207.35, saving you 7.36. Or 3.5%

"The 10th resolution of CGPM in 2003 declared that "the symbol for the decimal marker shall be either the point on the line or the comma on the line." In practice, the decimal point is used in English-speaking countries as well as most of Asia and the comma in most continental European languages. -Your BFF Wikipedia.org.

non-special PLEX offers -> 17.5 / mo (or if USD translated into EUR, 12.33 / mo) 13 PLEX for 199.99 special -> 15.38 / mo (or if USD translated into EUR, 10.84 / mo) 1-month subscription -> 14.95 / mo 3-month subscription -> 12.95 / mo 6-month subscription -> 11.95 / mo 1-year subscription -> 10.95 / mo
PLEX is still the worse option for people paying in USD, no matter what the offer is. People that pay in EUR can only take advantage of the 17.5->12.33 method (via GTCs) which is still worse than the 6 month or the 1 year plan. The only convoluted way in which the "13 PLEX" offer would be of any actual benefit is if some EUR-payer would actually wire cash to somebody that buys in USD, have him buy the PLEX and send them to him, but that actually breaks the game's EULA (selling in-game goods for real cash) and is also highly risky.
So... basically... no big freaking deal.

So the idea behind bringing PLEX-supported subscription RL equivalent prices ever so slightly more in line with directly credit-card-paid subscription for larger transactions is a sign of the coming apocalypse now or something like that ? ... Right. I rest my case. _

The idea of according discount on a market item regulated by the player economy and influencing its price by increasing or reducing offer/demand.
Seriously, It could be a ship, I don't care that it is a plex, but the timming is, with all the events going on, interesting.
Anyways, thank you for your concerns Akita, like If I was saying the apocalypse is coming...

You're full of non-sequiturs. Yes, the game might be taking a few odd turns. Yes, the new developments were sub-standard. Yes, CCP screwed up a lot of things. But the pathetically low discount on PLEX bulk orders (MUCH lower discount than when compared to longer subscription discounts) is NOT indicative and NOT related to ANY of those things, nor ANY future developments, good or bad. It's like saying a "buy a 10-pack of icecream, get 1 free" promotion is a sign that the icecream company is going under, or plans to screw up the recipe. Would you like a T2 tinfoil hat ? I have a BPO for it. _

CCP are really screwing EU in the a**, because 10.95 euros = 15,56 dollars, so one year becomes 131,4euros which is 186,71 dollars. Instead of 131.4 dollars which are 92,47 euros. I know this an old argument but hey i thought id mention it again because im ****ed off because it would be worse buying 1 year rather than one month at a time with dollars.

You are missing something. If you go to CCP's own PLEX store, you get 1 PLEX for approx. $20. 13*20=260, which is greater than 199.
You can buy 2 PLEX for about $35, 6 PLEX for $105, or 12 PLEX go for $210, all of which translate to about $17.5 per PLEX. 17.5*13=227; 227>199. ----------------------------------
