The numbers never lie. And this says it all.
When the trend is usually an increase in log in's, one can only assume when there isn't it was a failure.

Yes, the trend is clearly visible, even more so on all time graph. Eve is in real mess atm. Partly it's Incarna (which is the best expansion ever, according to CCP), partly other things, like dying 0.0 political game as one superbehemoth slowly killing off everything non-blue in the null-sec. I guess by Christmas we'll know for sure if Eve had just a cold or is it terminally ill.

Look at the triple increasement from 2006, it is reasonable that the CCP might just feel satisfied with the current situation.

The posting of charts to "prove" incarna was a bad x-pac is so last month.

People who attempt to discredit facts with an opinion should be running for office in Alaska not posting on the Eve forum. Seriously... the chart doesn't lie, those are real numbers and you have to be a moron not to reckognize that the games population is on a downward spiral.
Its a sad state of affairs, I hope CCP takes it seriously.

To be fair to CCP, Incarna is a big step forward in terms of technology. However, it needs further rooms to have a significant impact on us. Hopefully, that's coming with the next expansion.
If it doesn't though, I think that's when the sh!t really will hit the fan. People will seriously ask what has CCP been doing to further Eve. - i.e. do they even care about Eve any more?

The all-time chart is arranged chronologically from right to left for some reason. The trend shows an almost constant uptick in users since launch, not a decline.

Doubt it, since the current situation is that the game has flatlined for the last two years. ùùù ôIf you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡ you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.ö ù Karath Piki

It does appear to have been leveling out since late 2009, but the increase in users would be even clearer if the chart went back to launch.
As far as the eve-offline chart that is true. However near the end is showing a steady decline. Its too soon to really tell if that will be a consistent decline or leveling off. The range is too wide to really tell. However when looking at shorter term graphs and numbers it is showing a leveling off and slight decline. Like I said it might be too soon to tell and once winter rolls around will really show where things are heading.

Who is trying to disprove what here? I know it's futile to attempt to communicate with a troll forum alt but i'm simply tired of seeing the same topic pop up all the time. So what, the charts show this or that? It has been posted countless times and repeating it won't change jack ****.

I'd like to see actual subscription numbers, but it seems CCP has deemed this a need to know figure and we don't need to know.
Originally by: CCP Zulu Forcing players to dock at the captain's quarters is a form of what we actually wanted to get through, which is making Incarna a seamless part of the EVE Online experience. |

I agree - it looks as if Eve is on a plateau.
I don't think this is good - it's like a vote that says Eve is mediocre.
I think the problem is that CCP have one cash stream (Eve) and three games to fund (Eve, Dust, and WoD).

It would be interesting to know. However CCP decided to stopping doing the QENs which usually had that information. Odd timing on that decision.

Nothing odd about it. You post the numbers when your doing well, you don't post them when your not. Its kind of like gambling in that way. When your winning your bragging, when your loosing, you say nothing. Gives the impression that your always winning.

I'm curious what the 7-day dots will look like over the first couple weeks of the Diablo 3 launch.. most especially launch day. And how quickly, if much at all, they recover.

I have a feeling that quite a lot of ppl are waiting when some cool game is released to dump Eve or to go partially inactive. CCP should pay attention or the cash cow will starve and die and vampires may die with it too.

I personally would have never believed something like that was possible 3 months ago, but now I'm not so sure. Things are different now. Eve is in some kind of wierd new flux. Its trendy to leave Eve now and I don't need a chart to tell me that the playing population in Eve has very noticeably diminished and continues to do so more and more each day. I mean hell it was a ghost town this weekend.

Or its the result of the RL economic situation going south.

There is of course another possible reason, although I think its unlikely. The chance there is a large number of long skill trainers, that are otherwise inactive. However that's probably just Me wishful thinking as I don't want EVE to ever go away.

Personally, I will give a look at X Rebirth when it launches. Though not online, the X series are serious cool games.
