Figured Id get them together in their own thread rather than getting buried in another thread... Its not REALLY Mittens speaking out against CCP like all the titles of the articles say, its more ppl pointing the "news agencies" to Mittens' blog, but it starts...

Let me take a stab at how this might play out.....
CCP makes statement that Mittani is a member of a corporation hell bent on making the game bad for everyone, ejects him from CSM (maybe).
CCP makes couple interviews talking up Eve, Dust 514, and show that players have yearned for Incarna for years, and how everything is going to plan as it is a step by step release of walking in station.
CCP agrees nex prices could and will be lower in the future, that communication could be better, and that trolls will be trolls.

I can't CCP them just standing by and letting him criticize them. They don't handle that well as we can see from the fact that "Kugu" is still a censored word.
On the other hand The Mittani presides over a large segment of the Eve population. There is no telling what the Goons would do (or be told to do) if The Mittani got the boot...

Hopefully they do let him, and if they do we could properly commend CCP for doing so. Hopefully they can follow that up with making some positive changes to eve, which is really what hes criticizing them over. Doing both of those things would go a long way to getting back on track with the eve community.

Another thing that could happen from this:
CCP ****s all over the eve community and then discontinues support for it. They would've finally leeched as much cash out of it as possible, to start world of vampires and dust.
That would be the simplest answer for them. Just on day disable the site and cancel all payments. Done. Disable forums. Disable all. People wouldn't be able to do anything...
Correct me if I'm wrong?

Could that be why they are selling stacks of 13 Plex? Maybe.

Im sorry but I still enjoy Eve-online. I have been around since 2006. Done lowsec, null and highsec carebearing finding it all enjoyable. Haven't payed much attention to WH space and tried incursions on briefly. Eve has always (IMHO) been what YOU as player makes it. Sure we could use some more space content, maybe more WH space, maybe NPC null space. But still. I hope CCP can actually make Incarna complete and then focus on space again. Eve has been around long time and had much changes. Let's keep the faith that Eve will be around for much longer time and get even more changes. Roses are #FF0000, Violets are ##0000FF, all my base are belong to you... |

The winter expansion will probably make Mittani happy enough to start cuddling with CCP again.
The problem will be when the largest part of the EVE residents (the people not living in 0.0) installs the expansion and realize there are nothing new for them.
Nada.
One more time.
Im almost looking forward to it. |

I started playing in November 2005. Every day of every week of every month prior to the release of at least the new character creator, there was a thread on EVE General where somebody was badgering CCP about "When are we going to get WiS?". EVERY. FRAKKING. DAY.
Now, when CCP decide to devote a couple of expansions to giving us the much-asked-for WiS, albeit in rather unsatisfyingly small chunks spread across multiple expansions, people like The Mittani start piping up with "THEY'RE NOT LISTENING TO WHAT THE PLAYERS WANT!" and "THEY'RE NEGLECTING THE FLYING IN SPACE PART OF THE GAME!". This is neither fair nor accurate.
The CSM as a whole seems to view its role as being conflict with CCP, rather than liaison. Their whole attitude says that they think their job is "Us vs. Them". They've taken what was a small and justified glowing ember of unease and poured on so much fuel that it looks like half of downtown is on fire, and now they're saying that it's CCP's fault. I'd stick a picture of the current CSM on the wiki page for "Making a mountain out of a molehill" but it'd probably be seen as vandalism.
I prefer CCP being tight-lipped and corporate to these frakking idiots talking out of their backsides and then claiming to represent me. The CSM do not represent me, nor the silent majority who understand that the NeX store is not a problem and that Incarna is just the first paving stone in what's going to be a long and winding garden path.
F**k you, Mittens. STFU, HTFU and GTFO. -

As much **** I give the CSM, and what I think of them as a whole. They do seem to work very hard for us as players. They make there stances very clear, and that I find nice in what we have going on with communication in EVE atm.
If he really follows through with these actions, I really really hope CCP gets back on the EVE/Space ship ball, this is there game. It will only fail if they do not listen to the playerbase, and if they do not listen to the CSM.
I still have hope for the game, and really think the CSM can turn it around for us. And I find it really cool he gave CCP plenty of time to get on the ball, but he is right. They have had plenty of time, and if He, and others dont stand up now, it may become to late.

... and this is how you get yet another free trip to Iceland.
seriously, how is CCP supposed to solve this PR issue except by reaching yet another accord with the CSM and celebrating it in the media?
and mittens might consider himself a genius of words but that paragraph
Quote: Player Owned Stations exist because CCP noticed players stockpiling goods in safespots in GSCs. Outposts were added based on the obvious attempts to build more infrastructure in 0.0. Wormholes provided a place for players to indulge in a no-local environment and explore the unknown. Capital ships were created to deal with the POSes, and Supercapitals were made due to a fit of utter stupidity that haunts the Reykjavik office to this day.
- while fine for an alliance memo (except for the Station/Starbase mistake) - should have been rewritten before the media gets to see it.
POSes, GSCs, "no-local environment", ... bunch of useless technobabble that only obscures the point for readers not intimately familiar with EVE terminology.

Somebody else commented it was about time that the Mittani and the CSM saw the writing on the wall. People have been saying exactly what the Mittani has been saying for months now.
