You're much better off sticking with the 'I pay for EVE, so risk vs reward doesnt matter since i should get what I want'. Trying to argue that the NPCs provide enough risk (or any real risk at all) for the reward is laughable.
Did a level 4 mission run over your dog or something?
Why is there so much anger towards something that is completely avoidable for you? I just don't get why something that other players are doing with their time should bother you so much. Explain to me how it is ruining your gaming experience. Did I mention it's a GAME? More specifically, it's a game which is entirely open ended. Or are you that superior that you somehow should be able to dictate to the rest should be doing in Eve?
I freely admit the AI is rudimentary at best, something I would certainly like to see improved...threat assessment, missile evasion behaviors, variable setups, whatever. But even if it were Stephen Hawking brilliant, I get the feeling you'd still be bitter. But then again, how much more difficult is PvP when you know exactly where the target is, what they're equipped with, and that they fight to the death? My point there, is that even a real live player wouldn't be able to do much better than the AI in that situation. So, what would you expect? And quite honestly, your "no risk" argument is bunk. Just dial up how many ships are lost in Rens at any given moment. You don't strike me as someone who is arguing from a position of authority on this matter. Tell you what, you think there's no risk, we'll go and do Pirate Invasion with a couple back-to-back 3x Gist Warlords, 5x Webifier, and 5x Viper spawns. Then, you tell me there's no risk.
I have a feeling you're just feeling excluded. Well, someday maybe you can get that security rating down and come join us in Empire.
