Sendaya System, DERELIK
A Tech4 operative was recently supplied with a curious communication.
An anonymous source claims that a series of intercepted messages, whilst apparently innocuous, may be a code. The fluid-router communication was intercepted by CONCORD decryption specialists based at the CONCORD Bureau at Sendaya V in the Anares constellation of the Ammatar-claimed Derelik region. They were reportedly monitoring traffic originating from the neighbouring system of Doril, a system on the edge of Angel Cartel territory in the Curse region.
The anonymous source was unforthcoming with details of how he came by high-security CONCORD information, but was able to say that whilst the messages are believed to hold important information, CONCORD decryption algorithms have yet to deliver any results.
The full message sequence is as follows:
Quote:Post-op fun? From: Erdrin Sostold Sent: XXXXXXXXXXX To: Haltz Krisbrid What say you? Shall we hit the pleasure hubs after dropping on the savages?
Quote:RE: Post-op fun? From: Haltz Krisbrid Sent: XXXXXXXXXXX To: Erdrin Sostold Sounds like a plan. Nothing gets me thirstier than a raid. Got rid of your crotchrot yet or you still out of commission?
Quote:RE: RE: Post-op fun? From: Erdrin Sostold Sent: XXXXXXXXXXX To: Haltz Krisbrid Shove it up your ass! That was just a rumorGǪ Those dancers will be all over me. IGÇÖll throw you some castoffs, though, so youGÇÖre not in the corner all night crying into your drink like last time.
Quote:RE: RE: RE: Post-op fun? From: Haltz Krisbrid Sent: XXXXXXXXXXX To: Erdrin Sostold Keep dreaming. You know KeraGÇÖs all mine. Anyway, just make sure you donGÇÖt wind up in the medcenter again with a bullet in your buttcheek. Meet you at the usual place after the op.
Quote:RE: RE: RE: RE: Post-op fun? From: Erdrin Sostold Sent: XXXXXXXXXXX To: Haltz Krisbrid Sweet. Numbskull gardeners wonGÇÖt know what hit GÇÿem.
First appearances suggest that this is nothing more than two individuals GÇô suspected of Angel Cartel affiliations GÇô making plans to blow off some steam after a planned raid. However, CONCORD intelligence suggests there is possibly a deeper meaning to the language used and that something greater may be afoot.
GÇ£SavagesGÇ¥ may be an unkind reference to Minmatar interests, however if other key phrases such as GÇ£crotchrotGÇ¥, GÇ£dancersGÇ¥ and GÇ£Numbskull gardenersGÇ¥ have ulterior meanings, they are currently unknown. CONCORD operatives are continuing their investigations, but at time of writing, the two pilots, Erdrin Sostold and Haltz Krisbrid are unregistered on GALNET and may be aliases. Who or what GÇ£KeraGÇ¥ is also a mystery.

Please help us. Our Genesis Vault on Oddelulf III has been attacked by the Angel Cartel. They have hijacked our staging facility and trapped those still on the planet. They came without warning, they showed no mercy. I managed to get out in time. Please come quickly... The leaders seem to be those in your communication above. HELP. |

Intel shows 14 frigs, and a pod piloted cynabal What is the point if every race has an Jam/Damp/Disruptor/ ship etc? A Cartel attack on a major Minmatar Corporation? We haven't seen anything like this since the Skarkon incident... It looks pretty clear from those intercepts that the Angel's were not merely after hydroponics equipment. Native Freshfood are not known for their radical R&D projects, so unless the Cartel are suddenly desperate to boost their hydroponics yields then NF may have some explaining to do.
But not half as much as the Cartel themselves. What will the Shakor government have to say I wonder? http://uglebsjournal.wordpress.com/ |

Gotta hand it to Angels they almost compare with Mordus when the balls hit the scale.
This looks like a matter between corporations as far as I am concerned, and unlike the situation with Sansha forces. Nobody is being kidnapped and enslaved.
Admittedly, someone who wants something is trying to take it from someone else who has it. But that's nothing new in the world.

Looks obvious that this was a snatch mission by the Angels, probably looking for some advanced tech - in that way that they do. The REAL question is who hated the Matari enough to spread the rumour that said tech was hiding in one of their genesis vaults? |

The Republic naval forces and the Parliament in general I don't think are very happy about it. I bet Prime Minister Shakor is contemplating using his Khumaak on some skulls. Interesting that the Angels would be doing a raid for tech though. I'd think having managed to supposedly have access to old Jove databases and centers in their areas then they wouldn't need to do a raid. |

It's that simple.
They didn't find what they were after, or at least that is the image they wished to project.
CONCORD obviously had foreknowledge; however, my guess is that the vault was either a secret or whatever was there was deemed low risk. Hence, their confusion, and the leak looking for assistance.
I'd wager that two smash and grab team leaders exchanging chatter about a low risk target got some head scratches; that there may be something of greater value within striking distance probably got them concerned.
What's more interesting is the mention of the name "Kera". Two "Kera" names appear in public agent databases; one Akanula Kera and one Kera Ashida. The second one, if the "Kera" being mentioned, would be cause of concern. However, it could have just been a stripper's name.
All in all, a rather bold move. I'd offer some strategic advice to CONCORD and the Minmatar, but seeing as how they usually ignore it I'll simply do what I always do and watch.
It is so fascinating seeing them scramble to play catch-up with the pirates. |

There are many vaults in the cluster. A Matari bio-diversity vault is hardly one of the most obvious places to grub for the kind of high-tech that interests the Angel Cartel, I would say.
It's interesting that you suggest that they may actually have gotten what they wanted and were claiming not to have done so as misinformation. That would explain the 'scorched earth' destruction of the genesis vault, since it will now be almost impossible to tell what was removed from there, if anything.
If the Shakorites have started using non-combatant facilities like the genesis vaults to store weapons research, for example... |
