Edited by: Gungankllr on 05/03/2005 17:29:38 Every now and then, I get in a generous mood.
I have in my possession a 1-run Scorpion Battleship Blueprint, which I intend to donate to a honorable new player who would like a jump-start to his or her gaming experience.
The general idea of this gift is not to necessarily hand over a large amount of ISK or loot to someone that hasn't worked for it, but instead to give a new player a goal of what to work for.
If you right click on the BPC and show info in it, it will tell you what the mineral requirements are to build it.
I do understand that some older players will scoff at this thread, but the intent is to help a newer player "get a little ahead", without handing them everything on a silver platter.
If you would like to be considered for this reward, please tell me why in this thread. In about 5 days I will look at your responses and pick a winner.
After the winner is chosen, I will help you to aquire the minerals you need to build your new battleship.

what about the skills? they'll need to train up the skills to fly it =] and then a bunch more to use it effectively.
if you help a noob mine for it you will also have to tell him/her what to train, and how to use it, or it will probly get blown up the second they finally fly it.

its up to the player that recives the scorp how to use it. Its not n00b training camp its a giveaway.
Of course, some pointers would be good but that will probably come naturally. I can donate some guns and mods for this if gungan allows me. ------------------------------------------------

I would like this Blueprint so that I can sell it, buy a cheaper Blueprint for something like a Frigate Blueprint for which I can start working my way up to bigger and better blueprints, hopefully making enough money to buy back a Scorp blueprint one day, and make it.

Being as I just started today, I don't really understand alot of the ins and out yet. This gift seems like a huge step in the right direction, deffinetly would be nice to have a blueprint showing what I should be gathering for resources and what skills I would need to pilot the ship.
I really can't say I was looking for handouts when I started, but people have been very friendly and helpfull with my questions. I was able to save up and buy a ship with a little bit bigger cargo hold, I think it's called an Isicus ? I have to run from combat alot, I guess I need to work on weapons, I do love mining though.
Good luck to whoever gets this blueprint, rather than just selling it.. try and use it to roadmap your skills so you can one day pilot it. I think that was the intention of it's use.

Very cool Gungankllr,Its always good to see someone like you willing to help out new players.I lost a ship once because i was new and did something wrong. But i recieve a replacement ship and isk from players like you.Thank god their are still gamers around like you.
Having a battleship bp is a huge goal to work for and it would be fun along the way.

I would like this reward, because I'm a fast learner in MMORPGs i've been playing the game for 3 weeks and I already own a thorax a moa and several other ships. I think if i was to acquire the scorpion BPC and eventually the scorpion it will not be blown up in a few minutes or days, because I know that as a new player i am not prepared for the pirates in 0.0 secotrs of the galaxy. so please pick me :-)

Lets be encouraging people with minimal supporting skills to hop into a battleship as early as possible. Becasue its always more fun to lose everything you've worked for because you have absolutely no idea how to fly it effectively, right?
Perhaps you can kick the person who recieves this in the crotch as an added parting gift.

Edited by: Ifryt on 07/03/2005 10:27:02 I think I deserve it because my merlin got blown up on my 1st storyline mission, on my 2nd day, by a bugged 1.5 million battleship spawn & 2 Spider II drones, and I'd like to go and kill one in revenge. Not something I can do in my new cruiser (my 4th 'cause I lost a couple to pirates) :) (Tho' I think I did /some/ damage to 1 of the drones...)
I'm now just about a month old, but still new. :)

If you have nothing positive to say, then please post somewhere else.
The intent of this post is to help a new or "newer" player get ahead.
If you feel that a newer player would be better served getting a Frigate, Destroyer, Cruiser, or Shuttle BPC, then feel free to do that yourself.
I just happened to have a Scorpion BPC, and this is how I'm going to give back to the community.
If you're so worried about them getting it blown up, feel free to train them in how to use it properly.
If you can't be bothered to do that, then go find another thread to troll in please.

Gungankllr,
I am a noob to both EVE and MMOG's. And I would have to say that my experience thus far has been wonderful mostly because of the players who populate this game. I have chatted with and received guidance from several very friendly players like yourself and I think that your "gift" is very generous. I would very much enjoy receiving the BP not only because of the cool ship, but it would be a great way to lessen the learning curve and get to know a seemingly friendly player. That said, the recipient should be mighty grateful for the boost cause this game is freakin' hard!

I just started playing this game the other day and really enjoy it thus far. I believe there is a lot to learn and from what I've read the information can be rather overwhelming at times yet seems challenging. I'd like to poke a chance at getting this blueprint to have come clear set future goal for myself to work towards. I don't see the point in selling the blueprint as others say and I think it would be cool to have a battleship waiting for me to use when I am at the required skill level and experience. This would (for a newbie) not be something to waste imo. |

Dear Gungankllr,
Very honorable of you to give the BP to a noob like me and the rest of the posts in this topic. I have been playing Eve for three days and I'm loving it, i want to do everything you can in this game but I think it will take many many years to do that, I've even heard you can build your own space station, sweet! Any assistance you could give to me in help or advise it would be apreciated and the BP would be nice but my skill levels willneed to be train I suspect to use it. Good luck everybody and i hope you are not one of thouse scammers i read about cause that would really suck beans for the winer of this give away. Walrus! A battle ship for a noob is a huge responsibility and expense and will take ages to get together, both skills and minerals, I agree that it is defninately something to work for and would be a fantastice sense of achievement (isnt everyones first ship in the next class) I am stuck with a comorant after my first week (40hours) of this game and am loving the challenge of lvl2 missions. A battle ship would definately spice things up a lot and would definately benifit my corporation who have only just been founded and I dont think any of our members have been playing for more than a month. It would be put to the use of the corporations improvement. But to be honest it would just be brilliant to be able to have tha kickstart. We do it for new starters in the corp by donating 1mil ISK to get them going and it would awesome to see or experience it from others. good for you m8 whatever you decide

I am actually just able to fly a scorp begining today but only have about 41mil saved. My corp mates want to help me out but we are currently at war with two corps so cash is straped atm. I have no intrest in selling the blue print and would actually have the ship in production today if you are so kind as to see fit to bestow this gift upon my young humble warrior. ------------------------------------- You are all worthless, and weak.

Edited by: Gungankllr on 10/03/2005 00:30:06 I also have blueprints for Siege launchers, Shield Hardeners, and enough goodies to stock your new Battleship.
if I have it in my hangar, it's free. if I don't, then you will need to bring me the minerals to build your modules for you.
I'm undecided yet, but I may pull the high end ores out of my reserves for you, as I don't see a reasonably new player being able to mine those anywhere but 0.0 space.
Also, I'm adding an Osprey Cruiser fitted for mining to the winner, and if I have more than one Badger mk. II in my hangar when I log in, one of those also.
No, I'm not quitting, for my corpmates with their fingers hovering over the "reply" button.
All I ask is that every now and then, everyone stop being so cynical on the forums, and help out a new player.

I find this an interesting topic and an interesting offer. As a "noob" that has been in this game for 2 days, the prospect of having a BS is obviously appealing. On the other hand, just figuring out how to open the chat window when I minimize it would also be helpful...
In the end, most players that begin a game of this depth and complexity find the rewards of advancing to be a significant part of the appeal of the game. What would I do with a scorpion BS? I have no idea, probably get it destroyed because I had no idea what I was doing. Ultimately being able to pilot the craft would take several weeks if not months to accumulate the skills required, so perhaps by then I could put it to good use.
Regardless of who you give this gift too, it is a generous act.
Good luck,
Gralatus

Sure. Anything you want to pass along will end up with the winner.
That actually goes for everyone. If you'd like to donate something, you can escrow it to me at Saila M14 Caldari Navy Assembly Plant.
Minerals would be perfect, modules or skills second.

Hello I'm new to EVE. Just joined from COH and i'm frankly amazed at how much I am enjoying it. I am on my 2nd agent and am simply doing agent missions. I'm finding them a bit more rewarding than mining. I love goals and getting a blueprint would go a long way to setting one. I would have to lean about what to do with that blueprint!! I guess the journey is the reward. So there - Look my way...
Thanks
