Hi, just started playing eve goin good so far, wondering though if there is any way of making the camera stay static on the back of my ship when in flight?
I've come from playing X3 and was hoping eve would be almost an mmo version of it, i much prefered that camera and flight style of X3 so any help with this would be great if not i'll just have to get used to it.

Nope, you have to move it there yourself "A genius throws a Molotov cocktail and soon realizes that he's going to die choking in a maze of smoke and flame. A hero drinks a Molotov cocktail and soon realizes that if he does a split in midair, he can hit twice as many zombies per kick. Drunk hero wins again, wusses." ~Cracked.com |

Pan around until you get the view you want, the camera isn't actually fixed, you have infinite zoom and pan.
Also if you hit escape there's an option to activate the advanced camera controls, this allows you to fix a focal point if you're into making videos etc. EVEO Forums, the home of witty banter.

Advanced camera controls are probably beyond what you will ever need. They are for staging shots not playing the game. As far as follow mode, no. It's not that kind of game. In fact 9 times out of 10 if you can even see your ship, urdoingitwrong. The camera controls you need are zoom (mouse wheel or left + right click and drag), moving the camera, and pivot the camera (right drag.) Having the tactical overlay on and an appropriate zoom level is a thousand times more effective than a completely useless follow view. Hmz. Another X player (like me) who comes too EVE. Luckily with better mindset then the last one that came complaining.
To answer, no fixed camera so you have to move it around yourself. But keep it fixed behind your ship can limit you. As you can shoot stuff behind you (guns can rotate).
Also, keep in mind though both EVE and the x series are set in space that's where most similarities stop. Inject your skillbook before you leave the station. Neo didnGÇÖt learn Kung-Fu by having it sit in his usb drive.-á If it moves, shoot it. If it doesn't move, poke it with your gun and then shoot it. We are not running, we are advancing in the opposite direction |
