I wish they would add this.
Imagine a single system with one station, sentries with lots of HP, a forcefield protecting the station, nearly unlimited HP but DOABLE over an extended period of time or with a huge fleet of ships.
Of course mid empire 0.5-1.0 would be downright impossible with concorde. But in the low sec systems? maybe have a group of faction NPCs warp in and help defend the station, I dunno.
It would add much much more to the game, PvE and PvP..
just an in-game dream, really. ________

Perhaps....
At least one point that would need to be addressed are the storyline issues. A 0.4 system in Amarr space is still part of Amarr space. Conquoring a station there, if made possible, would be an act of War against Amarr.
The most simple option I can think of would be to allow player corps to declare war on the major empires, and make the conquest of assets in 0.1 to 0.4 doable. But to be realilistic, NPC fleets should attempt to retake such stations now and then.
Then there is the issue of "standings".
The simple answer is that players taking part in such conquest take major standing hits.
But, if CCP wanted, they could have the player corp take the standing hits.
As stated, attempts to take on major empires in 0.5+ should be suicidal, even without concord.
As for 0.1 to 0.4, the Empire in question could send maybe 100 mixed ships per 0.1 of security? Beatable with a good player fleet.

If you're talking about them just generally being ingame....they're there already. Numerous conquerable npc stations exist all over 0.0 space.....3 per region I think is the outlay.
But if you're only talking about adding them to low/sec empire space I doubt we'll ever see them there. Way too much to code in to ratify the way concorde reacts to hostile actions. Besides, putting them in empire space would nullify the reason for them existing in lawless space.

more elements ie conquerourable space in 0.0 systems could be good - lets leave it to the content guys if more people were to make use of 0.0 space perhaps it would get more attention. As it stands CCP react to where the majority of players are ie empire space

What Eve needs is hidden conquerable stations, that has limited functions but will be useful in some ways or other: Repair Stations - Self Explanatory Scanner Stations (Would be able to scan spots in the system just like scanner probs, just with a much longer time to work) Satellite Stations - Able to scan nearby systems (up to say 4 jumps away?) for people in local Fitting Station - Self Explanatory
Just some ideas, but small stations like these would be a nice additions, all at random spots in the solar system and not show up on right click or on the map. ------------------------------------------

Small, limited stations where a corp/alliance can refit and stuff would be great,of course hidden as well.
I doubt the empires would give a **** if we straight up conquered the stations anyway.I mean we can get a 50 member fleet and CLAIM THE SYSTEM AS OUR OWN.
If they dont care that they no longer control a system in actuality, that the fleet has every gate camped, that no one can get in without permission,i doubt they will care whether we control the station there or not.

a little thing like a market module would work wonders for the POS
something where you can drop up (and pick up) Items from a POS that DOES NOT belong to your corp allowing players to trade using POS
also allowing Aliance members to fit ships at the POS as well as storing them (proberly would need a something to make it so that only the person that parked the ship could undock it (as well as the Directors of the owning corp)) and removing the Cap penalty for onlining modules at a POS would do wonders for making a POS useable
Thank You Paw Sandberg

The only tricky thing would be balancing this with the pos defences. You could concievably put something on the market at your pos, wait for people to buy, then set bad standings to them as soon as the transaction (showing the char name) hits your wallet. They then come to pick up their stuff, and get toasted by your sentries. It's the same reason a proper market hasn't been put in the PCS, only there you can just ban a player from docking, rather than auto-sentry-pwn them.
Of course, giving people a "buyers ticket" that stops the sentries firing on you is also a problem - your enemies could each buy 1 unit of small ammo from you, for negligable cost, and in return get to move into perfect position to attack before the sentries open up on them.
And of course if you have the market module as a module remote from your main pos to avoid the sentries, it just becomes an easy target.
Maybe what's needed is some sort of automated delivery service. Say, to pick up your goods, you just need to be in the same system as the pos - could be hidden at a safespot, or anywhere. You then radio the pos (maybe via assets window) to package up and lob your goods over to your location....what would actually happen is the server wouold take the item from the pos market module and put it in a handy-dandy container floating by your ship. Of course, if you can't fit the goods in your hold, you'd be a bit stuffed
