I was recently attacked in a 4th lvl complex, and I thought that I read somewhere that doing so was an exploit. True or not?
By the way, I won.

no, I'm jk..
sorta.
I hope it's not an exploit if it's in low sec space. Anywhere except for outside of stations/gates should be free play for pirates. ________

technically, it should be "complices" but it's been butchered over time.

Personally I would prefer that when you (or your gang) warps through a complex gate, they should get their own personal game world. Cause it's dreadfully annoying travelling 22 jumps to get to a 5/10 complex only to find another gang already at level one. Then you can basically go home or be patient.
I know this would ruin the options for pirates to get that campfire started, but don't they have enough space to fight?
Anyways...that was just my two isk. ------------------------------------------ Take care, Mesiree

I dont think attacking someone in a complex is an exploit, attacking someone while they are in a mission complex is a different matter but then it depends on how they got there, not if they really are attacking you.
And then, Callous Hooper, could you please change your sig so that it does not place bookmarks on peoples computers, I know they usually are benign but A; its anoying to get spammed by bookmarks and B; they can be used to compromize a persons account.
The reason I say you are the one trying to put a bookmark is because you are the only one who has a sig thus far, if it is not you that try then I apologise in advance.

Eeek, this would be horrible. I would prefer Eve stayed its path in aiding some form of believability and didn't become another one of those shallow MMORPG's with instanced dungeons and such.
So in war, the way is to avoid what is strong and to strike at what is weak. |

That was suggested to CCP many times when they wqere planning Exodus, and if I remember rightly their response was basically "not a chance". They seem to want to keep Eve as one universe, not a bunch of little self contained ones (instancing).

Eve will never have instancing, thats the dev word on it. No need to even suggest it anymore either, cause they arent gonna change their minds on that. Just like they aern't gonna change their minds on persistency of ships in space.
And anyway, attacking someone else in a complex is not an exploit, and never has been. _______________________________________________

Randomly killing someone in a lvl 4 complex in 0.4 space is hardly an exploit. It's no different from pirates attacking you in a 0.4 system when you're mining there.
Now if a huge corp camped said complex day in day out so no one but them could use it, it would probably be looked at by the GM's, but only then.

Was referring to complexes really, but even dead space agent missions aren't true instances.

Sorry, don't think so really cause there's more reasons for GM;s to intervene then exploiting. But i can't go into dicussing exploits on the forums for reasons of my own. I'll leave you guys to it. _______________________________________________

My thoughts exactly. A scan of a system with lots of agents reveals just stupid amounts of acceleration gates and NPC's. --------------

Complex camping is what we do not want eve to be......cant anyone else see the problems associated with that?

Nope, not in 0.4 and below tbh.
Remember that camping a complex is by no means a certain win situation. You can't bring a bigger ship then your enemy can, and you are visible in local as well.
Tbh, you could just as asily turn the tables on a complex camper as on any camper. _______________________________________________

Personally, I think if you want instances, you should go play one of the other 10000 ****ty MMOGs that do it. Stop trying to bring EVE in line with all the other brain-dead **** that passes for levelgrinds-i mean MMOGs.

uhm...yes and no. Deadspace missions can't be detected by other players, but a gang can still warp to said player and join them, or activate the acc.gate and travel to the deadspace.
as for not being able to scan the deadspace itself and warp there oneself...well......let's just say that's nitpicking, especially since said nitpickers invariably know exactly the exploit they want to take advantage of. (in this case, being able to warp in 60km from said deadspace and longrange snipe everything just like the good old days)i'm assuming it wasn't an 'exploit', per se. But, it was something the devs didn't like, so they coded out the ability to warp in at long range from deadspace/complex areas - and they needed acc.gates to do that. ______________________ Best darned links ingame and out (backup) |

Warp stabs and high shields solve the gangker problem at deadsapce complexes (never had that issue msyefl there are what 20,000 deadspace complexes surley only a handful would be camped for extended periods - if so that info can be spread around and avoided)

Such pretty language, for such a pretty lass. I weren't trying to **** anyone off. Was merely a little annoyed with having travelled for an hour only to find the "no vacancy" sign lit
Besides, I'm not well versed in MMOG's, so I wouldn't know the bad thing about having complexes as instances. Ofcourse I could see the problem if we all entered a different world when exiting the stations.
Anyways...I'll just bring a holo-reel and get in line next time ------------------------------------------ Take care, Mesiree
