First of all I think this thread is legitimate because the stickied thread on top is pre-patch and now is filled with alot of contradiction. Basicly its of no use anymore. That said....
What in someone's name are the requirements for getting a storyline mission? I have done roughly 75 missions in a row post-patch without canceling one missions or switching agent. I havent seen anything remotely close to a storyline mission. Basicly it comes to these missions:
Guristas Extravaganza Angel suprise Silence the informant Guristas spies Ammo Run Rescue the feary princess Retribiution (or revenge or something like that)
and than back to the top. I even got 3 Guristas extravaganza in a row once but apart for a really random different missions this is what I do and what I keep doing for 75 missions without a storyline mission.
I think there is still something wrong with the storyline missions. Maybe its race related or maybe its department related I dont know, but I want to know how many people are getting storyline missions and especially how many dont.
I do missions for a Caldari Navy Agent lvl 3 from command department. Seriously Have I Not Said How I Can Assist Some One You Are Killing Online? |

Storylines are random.
To put it bluntly it is highly unlikely you will receive a storyline PER WEEK,regardless of how many missions you do.Add in the fact most storylines still give "lolerskater" rewards and you get the idea its a tad broken atm.

Edited by: Joshua Foiritain on 07/03/2005 17:07:53 I get a storyline mission once every 16 missions. Like the devs say it does. Also you dont do storyline missions for the reward, you do it for the pie load of standing you get Works fine with every agent, every corp and every faction so far.
Which faction have you been working for? ---------------------------

Storyline missions should be given every 16 missions or so, as long as you aren't mass declining missions. Are you sure you aren't getting any emails from the storyline (important) agents?
Also, the rewards of storyline missions is mainly in faction standing. They are not all intended to have 'uber phat lewts'.

Storyline missions are NOT random. If you have not received one, and think you should have done, please post a bugreport stating your agents & character name, and it will looked into.
Storyline missions should occur once every 16 missions, modified for failed/refused missions.

Edited by: Shinshi Casoyako on 07/03/2005 23:47:38 Edited by: Shinshi Casoyako on 07/03/2005 23:38:13 I might have declined a mission or two in the last 2 weeks. For every mission I decline for that agent I do atleast 10 missions without declining (you know that get that ammo stuff from here to there mission while doing kill missions)
I can for sure say that I havent declined a mission or let on expire for the last 30 missions. Might have done one or two allowed declines in those 75 missions but nothing else.
Anyway I am counting now, did 2 missions today (not much time today) When I am at thirty again ill post again here.
Edit: The only agent(s) that send me mails is my current agent with an offer almost everyday.
Edit: Filed a bug report did not knew that that was needed Seriously Have I Not Said How I Can Assist Some One You Are Killing Online? |

The storyline mission won't be from the agent you've been working for. You'll get an email from a different agent, that you normally can't access, saying they have an important assignment for you. You'll also notice them when docked under the agents tab (I often don't notice the email, but see their face pop up in station). Also beware, the storyline mission may be for a different corp than the one you are working for. I work mostly for Fed Navy, but the storyline missions I've gotten from some agents are jobs for FedMart, Fed Intel, etc.

Since we're on a new thread, can something be done to make storyline missions more fun. It's a real bummer to travel 10 jumps for a L3 storyline mission that can be done in a frig. They're supposed to be a big deal, so why can't they have something more to them than to kill 3 or 4 ships? I spend far more time travelling to the mission than I actually spend completing it. Surely it should be the other way around, considering their so-called importance.

Storyline missions come from agent referrals which come in the form of eve-mails
The rewards are not bad, in one storyline mission I received a +3 charisma implant. In another, I ended up getting a BUCKETLOAD of gallente navy tags (its surprising that the best way to get tags for serpentis BS is by doing caldari missions...)
Not to mention some of the standing increases... in the same gallente navy storyline mission I received +2.48 standing for mercantile club.

I understand that I dont get storyline missions from my regular agent. I have been given storyline missions when I started playing last october. Got a nice set of +1 implants from them just prior to them being "removed" from the reward list.
I just dont get the mails that are send to players earning a storyline mission. Seriously Have I Not Said How I Can Assist Some One You Are Killing Online? |

I just decline/let them time out, the loot indeed sucks, the mission is not related to the missions you do (move 40k cargo, while you always do kill missions), and its never near your base of operations (40 jumps for the mission, and another 11 to pick the stuff up in the first place and that in a SLOW indy.)
Would be better to make Important missions a group mission so you can do it with alot of people, that compensates its loot with the ammount of people required, is related to the mission type you do, and is based upon team efford. Example?
Johnny the pirate is on the loose!
Goto a complex, kick the ****ty out of 7 levels, and in the end there is one guy who is flying a dreadnought and does 4000-5000 damage per hit.
Hint from agent: remember to bring shield transfer and armor transfer arrays, a logistics cruiser would certainly help.
Idea is that people let people work in team efford and take for example 2 other guys to carry loot/ammo etc and shield boost, while 2 guys are heavy hitters with some tank.
Its the teamplay so many ppl ask for @_@ __________________________

I take it that the storyline missions are now fixed? I haven't bothered with them in a while as i got fed up of doing 15 jumps only to find that a storyline agent wouldn't speak to me
Then 15 jumps back to base of course.

You know, you might want to tell your GMs this. They are under the assumption storyline missions were changed to be completely and utterly random. This was the response i got when i petitioned a suspicious,30+ succesful mission, lack of storyline mission a while back.

I have been doing missions for an agent in Siyi (lvl2 agent - can't remember the name) and haven't been given any storylines.
Starting tonight I will count and file a bug report if I don't get given one when I should have one. ________________________________________________ Stop Whining!!!

Aaaaand I will say they are random. Did over 20 missions until I got story line without failing single mission. Then after that, did like 6 mission and got story line again _______________________________________________ My opinions aren't my corporations opinions.

No,they are not supposed to be random.Unless you are implying zrakor is wrong?
If they are not giving out every 16 sucesful missions, petition.Make sure you link to zrakor's reply so they understand that this is NOT normal.
Oh and the majority of storyline missions are LOLERskates.Faction standing is not worth much since corpstanding is a ton easier to get.

Storylines are severly bugged it seems.Quite a few people arent getting them at 1:16 and now some are even getting them earlier than 1:16.

Done 39 straight missions for the same agent, no failures, no refusals and still nothing from a storyline agent. Starting to get a little..... frustrated

I think it's time to remind everyone that bug reports should go to http://bugs.eve-online.com/.
The people who verify and fix bugs don't necessarily read this forum, so posting them here won't do you much good.
Please supply as many details as possible. Please also report bugs that you think are known and might have reported already by other players. It's possible that you are able to give valuable additional information, or at least help the bug hunters judge the extent of the problem

Done, thanks.
Am i right in thinking that the bug people don't answer back (if that's not too surreal a question)?

Ya that faction standing thing is worthless ........ especially considering it opens up higher quality agents under any corp under that faction.
ya that access to all agents is worthless........
higher corp standing only gains you access to more agents in that corp..... faction standing gives you access to ALL agents under that faction.
not worth much ...... it's worth everything if you want access to all agents.
I personally hate having access to allllllll caldari agents through all of eve and khanid as well excluding R&D.
That's a terrible option.
