Here's an idea;
How about introducing a new EvE race - sucks for Bitter Vets like me but noobs will have great new opportunities for race selection.
Technology is based on Bio Mechanical symbiosis.
Weapons are BioChemical or perhaps Organic.
Introduce a new range of modules to compliment that race (with related skill set) but also allow for integration into current ship tech and vice-versa.
Maybe have similar concepts to Electronics and Engineering with a biological slant. Perhaps "Bio Mechanics" & "Organics".
This may open up a whole new angle on fleet doctrines.
Discuss...

tbh, wouldnt mind so much if they expanded the racial selection in eve... have the eve-gate open one-way into new eden. be a good spark for some seriously masive conflict!

I'm pretty sure that new "race" is only going to show up once CCP have nothing better to put in the game.

Actually it wouldnt be gamebreaking in the slightest or hard, not now that all the races are virtually identical minus looks stat wise. Sleepers and Sansha and Jove would be the obvious 3 right off the bat.
Either that or just expand the races to include the sub races of each empire as "new" playable races and then carve up the 4 empires into their sub racial lines. Theres immediately 9 new races or else you can do the Khanid, Thukker, etc ship line races as new additions. Could give either low sec or NPC null a new "race" as well as militia style FW options. Would be a HUGE boost to NPC null to have the NPC races as "playable" at least in some way. And players have been screaming for ages that they wanted to help "defend" the sansha and that the standings for these null sec NPCs are useless minus L4 mission LP whoring out there anyway.
So theres lots of good options that wouldnt actually cause too much of a rift and could add lots of gameplay options should CCP look into it.
And with DUST coming out NPC null could use a bit of loving to create some sort of "home turf" other than the leading powerblocs. And a FW style gameplay, though it wouldnt matter in null, would matter in low or high sec logistically and territorially. Allies with the low sec factions perhaps? Like the 8:5 and 5:2 standings sort of allies of the current Empires. Add in some bonuses or nerfs to PI be it PvP related or maybe a FW style taxation for those who control the space beyond goo as a replacement (given the moon goo nerf and ring mining introduction) and then have a sov or FW sov like mechanic to show space beyond just the POCOs thats taxable on a "space held" level. So youd have to ultimately hold both null and low or at least have friends or allies in both and rewards.
But now Im getting OT and Ill die if I dont pay attention.

We don't need more races.
We could use Pirate destroyers, battlecruisers, industrials, caps.
Even more modules with new abilities, this is the real fuel for vets. New odd **** to train for.
Pirate miners with miner e-war. faction miners that sacrifice t2 yield to cause others mining your targeted rock to suffer from decreased yield or higher cap usage or increased cycle time for ice. Like whale wars level of annoying harassment. A step up from bumping. |

On the sub racial divisions just a side note....
Create a racially wide "alliance" style chat channel that you dont leave unless you get into a corp with an alliance or perhaps ever so that you have a large group of people to interact with that are on a "family" sort of level, much like the unused constellation channel thats just a bigger swath of local. Possibly if you have, as a corp or alliance, someone set to negative youd block them instantly and vice versa, though this would be a headache. And I can see it being metagamed around anyway.
But providing a bigger player interaction platform but now a 4 race, this would divide it into 12 channels, might be a good way to get alliance level interaction even in empire with a common "pub" channel.
