Chowdown	Posted - 2005.03.10 14:56:00 - [1] As of Monday Shinra will have a new euro hours leader, please do not contact me expecting a reply, because I will be off skiing in the Gallante Alps :). It is highly unlikely I will be returning as well, as it is said that such incursions are fraught with dangers. (You like this Zhuge, don't let that ebil Abd move it into the out of pod section.) In any case I would like to take this opportunity to extend my best wishes to all of those people I have interacted with ingame. Both friends and enemies alike have made this one of my most interesting adventures. I quit not as the result of a different games, enemy pressure or being annoyed with game mechanics. As Val Duanne said a few days ago its all about the friendships you forge in Eve, or should I say the interactions you have with other people. This brings me to my real reason for taking this very long and probably permanent break, some element of a RL would be nice again. I would attempt to highlight my best points of eve, but there have been so many. Anyway I enjoyed the old CA, Omaha, Leyla, Xirt, C4w3, Foyle.... to name but a few. I enjoyed what we achieved and the company of those which we fought. SA , yes SA the old school style were the best enemies and the best company in local from my safe spot, tips hat to Aeryn, Trig and Raz. Bob for literally scaring me senseless whenever I heard about your pending attacks. For the record I lead 3 fleets against Bob and never lost an engagement :). As of late flying alongside the best pilots in the game ATUK, EVOL, RKK has been an absolute pleasure. Of course my corp are the finest set of players in the eve universe, and great freinds! SHINRAWR P.S. For the record I will be giving "my stuff" to Aneu, for generally having his finger on pulse. New Shinra Kill system, please be patient were still ironing out the finer points!!

Without your leadership, Shinra would not only not be what it is, but IMO would probably not exist anymore at all, and we would all be mining veldspar in Yulai for Emperor Xirtam. I don't think it would be a lie to say you are one of the most influential charachters in the game, and only those close to you really know quite the extent of your dealings . You are the person I most enjoy flying with, and you are one of the best FCs in the game, if not THE best. I made a similar decision to yours a while ago, and it lasted all of a week. Popping demundus` ceptor with a lucky wrecking hit. Then proceding to get your raven into structure. Got myself stuck on the gate so you got out of scramblingrange and warped off. Had to draw you into a trap where my corpmates could finish you off...as I had run out of capcharges on my blasterthron . Don`t think ill forget that one soon. To say it's a sad day is an understatement. There are not many people in this game I have respect for, but Chowdown, you Sir are one I have always held in high esteem and hold nothing but respect you so rightly deserve. Just for the record you're in my Top 10 FC's I have ever had the pleasure to serve under, and this includes names such as Tholarim, Gunship, Skull, Duke, Eternal Dark, XirtamVOTF, Leyla, and Karnah to name a few. The game will truly be losing one of it's Chars that make Eve community what it is. I always get the impression you under estimate your contribution to this game, a word of advice Chowdown is this, be extremely proud in the knowledge of what you have achieved, when I think of SHINRA 3 names ultimately spring to mind .. Lallante, Monk, and of course CHOWDOWN. We've fought tooth and nail through the good times and through the bad in CA history, always together under the CA flag. The SNRA boys will be naturally be saddened, but i am confident that you have taught them well and they'll progress as you'd expect. Whoever does take the reins, I wish them the best of luck, because measuring up must surely be one of those impossible goals to try to achieve. Good Luck with Real Life, hopefully you'll come to your senses and realise Eve is a drug. I always maintain...Once an Eve player..always an Eve player. On a side note: One Raven lost....120m isk. Three Raven's lost in 24 hours....360m isk. The fact that it was Chowdown....f****** priceless Moved to Out of pod expereince -zhuge

Alowishus	Posted - 2005.03.10 18:25:00 - [51] I remember back in the day when I was in an Empire mining corp and knew nothing of CA, SA, FA or any alliances really, I was told by someone on Eve-Chat that I could find Arkanor (in what I now know to be Xetic space) in a system in the deep south east. I had planned to move a hauler down and take a shuttle so I could come back with my Probe. No instas mind you. I jumped into HED and what did I see? My first warp bubble. I was able to warp to the other gate where there was another warp bubble 50km off. And guess who was there waiting for me. Chowdown and The Monk. They killed my Indy so I hopped in the shuttle, they killed that and then finally got my Pod. Later I joined SA. I remember getting chills everytime I saw Chowdie in local or when he posted on the forums. I remember when Lord Zap announced that m0o would be attacking CA and how scary it was when Chowdown simply said, "Bring it." I almost felt sorry for m0o when I read that. Anyway, Chowdown has been a key player for me in Eve since my n00b days and I'll be sad to see him go. Raven 4TW! Rank(1) SP: 243745/256000
