As of Monday Shinra will have a new euro hours leader, please do not contact me expecting a reply, because I will be off skiing in the Gallante Alps :). It is highly unlikely I will be returning as well, as it is said that such incursions are fraught with dangers. (You like this Zhuge, don't let that ebil Abd move it into the out of pod section.)
In any case I would like to take this opportunity to extend my best wishes to all of those people I have interacted with ingame. Both friends and enemies alike have made this one of my most interesting adventures. I quit not as the result of a different games, enemy pressure or being annoyed with game mechanics. As Val Duanne said a few days ago its all about the friendships you forge in Eve, or should I say the interactions you have with other people. This brings me to my real reason for taking this very long and probably permanent break, some element of a RL would be nice again.
I would attempt to highlight my best points of eve, but there have been so many. Anyway I enjoyed the old CA, Omaha, Leyla, Xirt, C4w3, Foyle.... to name but a few. I enjoyed what we achieved and the company of those which we fought. SA , yes SA the old school style were the best enemies and the best company in local from my safe spot, tips hat to Aeryn, Trig and Raz. Bob for literally scaring me senseless whenever I heard about your pending attacks. For the record I lead 3 fleets against Bob and never lost an engagement :). As of late flying alongside the best pilots in the game ATUK, EVOL, RKK has been an absolute pleasure.
Of course my corp are the finest set of players in the eve universe, and great freinds!

For the record I will be giving "my stuff" to Aneu, for generally having his finger on pulse.

Chow, you are doubtless one of the main reasons I have stayed in the game. Without your leadership, Shinra would not only not be what it is, but IMO would probably not exist anymore at all, and we would all be mining veldspar in Yulai for Emperor Xirtam.
I don't think it would be a lie to say you are one of the most influential charachters in the game, and only those close to you really know quite the extent of your dealings .
You are the person I most enjoy flying with, and you are one of the best FCs in the game, if not THE best.
I made a similar decision to yours a while ago, and it lasted all of a week. The game is a drug, I'm pretty confident youll be back within the month.

You have without doubt been the best FC this game has seen and even the most humble and fun - something a lot (incl. myself) could learn from.
And dont think you'll avoid our pubcrawl when I come to the UK :P

Sad to see you go mate, its been a blast. I had hoped we at least got to chit chat in TS one more time. Is there someone in Shinra I can contact for your e-mail address or something, should I decide to stop by the the UK during one of my corporate trips to India? |

I remember my first solo BS-pvp-engagement. It was you and Demundus in the pipe from nol to 5-6..boy that was some great stuff.
Popping demundus` ceptor with a lucky wrecking hit. Then proceding to get your raven into structure. Got myself stuck on the gate so you got out of scramblingrange and warped off. Had to draw you into a trap where my corpmates could finish you off...as I had run out of capcharges on my blasterthron .
Don`t think ill forget that one soon.
Anyways, I wish you good luck in your future endeveurs!

all the best chow. by far the best fleet commander i've flown with; always creating the action rather than waiting for it to happen.
many thanks for the contribution towards the corp, the many hours spent developing Shinra into one of the best corps in the game and for allowing me to be a part of it all.

We in shinra and the rest of the EVE community have lost one of its best FC's. Your always a barrel of laughs on TS and I'm gonna miss flying under you. Moving to shinra and flying under you was one of the best things that has happened to me the last 6 months of playing EVE.
it wont be the same with out you mate. Truly a sad day

Tis a shame CA ended meant that i didn't get to fly with shinra much untill recently when i joined ATUK.

Losing an older player such as yourself just is upsetting, but I am more than aware that burnouts happen and people need to move on to other things. Best wishes and good luck with that RL thing you mentioned, I still need to figure out what that one is myself..

Flying in a fleet commanded by Chow, has been the greatest honour ever in this game for me. I still remember my first fight in Shinra, where I was used to avoiding outnumbered engagements the words "We're so gonna have that" echoed all over TS when our 4 Bships and my Vigil discovered 9 CFS bships in 5-6. After that I got used to it =P
