Many alliances contribute to making this game what it is so its hard to single any out.
Snuffbox, because that arty mach fleet you fly is proper sexy
SOTF/LostObession for keeping the FW alive with your cool fleets
Goons, for keeping so many unruly members together for so long and not fragmenting (also with the cool ability to whelp fleets for a year or more without getting disillusioned)
PL, for always looking over everyones shoulder and impressive security/Intel
AAA, for staying alive for so long while being stomped by most of Eve
RvB for providing a PVP jump in point for newbies just learning the game
And ofc UMAD for being awesome allies and proping us up when we start derping around fail jumping titans |

I suppose PL and Goons. And thats only because I've been here longer then either of them.
PL is the only alliance I know of thats not only survived, but actually grown in power and influence with a "nomadic" sov policy adopted after loosing all their space. They are far from unbeatable and have shortcomings just like everyone else however.
Goons didnt die when Sirmolle said they did, and thats that. I don't have a high opinion of blobbing and coalitions but you can't call it poor strategy. ______

Fatal Ascension - Going from nothing, nearly collapsing to rebuilding itself then showing EVE the underdog can win.
Can you please tell me when FA was an "underdog"? A long long time ago (About two years in fact) when FA was a part of the "B Team" Northern Coalition a lot of the folks on the southern chunk of the NC were essentially left to their own devices when fighting the likes of Evoke and PL when both groups were at the height of their power. This is a big part of what drove a giant rift between factions in the Northern Coalition and why no one gave a **** when they fell apart. FA and Spacemonkies along with a few other alliances like them have often found themselves falling between the cracks of much larger alliances. This isn't so much true anymore, but it was for a time. Hope this helps. I was there at the head of the effort, fighting Evoke and PL. Oh, goodness...that went poorly. That was a time when the Goons didn't hold Deklein and alliances who are now dead and forgotten did stuff that mattered, but is now lost to the annals of time; things remembered by few. FA did what we couldn't, respect to them for that. I remember those days, fondly. <3
Indeed I was in Dead Terrorists with Ev0ke/CryHavoc/NCdot in cloud ring fighting the old NC good times indeed, but then those ******* IT had to go and take most of our moons in Syndicate because they were greedy, then Cry Havoc disbanded then DT left to take -A- space after Initiative had kicked them out (which -A- took back almost immediatley a few months later) and then there was really only Ev0ke left to hold Cloud ring they moved out and IT had started there own demise because there wasnt a buffer anymore between NC and IT space and thus NC turned on IT, Interesting eve polotics at its best
Man those times are dead and buried now :/ hmm |

You're just mad you left us and now wallow in poverty in the Homeland, rather than bathing in sweet, delicious Technetium. The other day, I saw a doorstop made out of Technetium. It's all good, though.
Favorite non-allied alliance is definitely PL. They're rarely nice at the negotiating table, but their word is always good and they add a ton of content to everyone in low-sec and null-sec. Fix POSes.-á Every player should want one (even if all players can't have one). |

Also Walltreipers gave us fights when we were in Delve when nobody else would, so I respect that. My opinion -
1) Rooks and Kings.
2) Hydra Reloaded
3) Nulli
I was a part of Nulli though - Left a while ago with many corp mates because of the -A- crap. This was before Delve fell apart.
But I liked most everyone in Nulli except for Aura of Darkness - the other reason we left.
Good group of people there.
Only alliance i would even remotely consider joining these days is Rooks and Kings.
Otherwise I will enjoy my small gang fights and NPC null sec fun with the SOV pilots that cannot pilot without 40 other ships next to them.

Tough call but I'm going to go with GoonSwarm [OHGOD]. Mostly because no matter how impressive other alliances are, none loved a good fight so much that they would unanchor all of their POS towers and drag them into their enemies home system. It was sad to see them go but that is the nature of EvE. To be a hero in the dawn, a villain in the noon and dead in the dusk. |

Tri Mk1.
Maybe because i was fairly new at the time, but they way they blew away fleets amazed me. and the reaction of the older players around me at the time. (mostly asking WTF just happened)
edit: if i remember right they forced 7 smallish alliances to disband in the space of about 2 weeks when they visited dek.
Hopefully over the next few years all the re-balancing will give more groups chances to be more creative and make names for themselves. right now it's a numbers game. |

Rooks and Kings for small gang pvp and showing that really good coordination can be devastating in combat. If I knew I'd be accepted (I know I wouldn't) I'd love to get an alt in there to learn and get a taste of PVP on that level. It's basically alliance level combat brought into EVE, amazing to watch and I love their videos.
CVA for tenacity and staying in the same ****** region for almost 10 years now. Yeah yeah, RPers are ghey, etc. But they've stayed around that area and worked it, built it, defended it, lost it, attacked it, lost it, attacked it again, for almost a decade now. Almost everyone that pays attention in game more then 4 months knows that Providence is a great area to go for a combination of either pvp, a taste of 0.0 or even just messing around.
Walltreipers fighting harder and longer then almost anyone in the SoCo without access to piles of moon goo, renters, or even good space. Then being rewarded by their enemies for actually fighting like the Spanish lions they are. |
