[1] Edited by: Naos Zapatero on 13/03/2005 00:27:06 Would it be possible or for CCP to create an NPC corps for every empire that is at war with its alternate number according to the storyline? You could have players who do not have the time or inclination to join a PC corps join (and have some fun) and/or allow the RP corps join in an alliance with these NPC corps and solve the issue of war declaration cost for those RP corps within the already working framework of ôalliancesö. Any thoughts/suggestions from the community? *edit forgot to paste the post soz |

[9] YES PLEAAAAAAAAASSEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!! The "Please CCP throw us some PC-NPC interaction" movement is gaining some momentum it seems... There are a few ideas along what you propose on this Events thread (the ideas "extracted" from two ongoing threads in this forums) Check it and see if it's more or less what you are thinking? --------- The Snow and the Dragon (Caldari children's Tale) |

[11] Sure npc is built on roleplay, why the hell not. *had visions of defending both the gallente federation and the center for advance studies. Tbh, be nice to know that joining the gallente navy actualy ment something. Maybe the gm's, whatever could organise such conflict. Be hell of a fun for near everybody given proper explnation and roleplay. ------------------------ ---- Little wonder why people were, what this person was telling my friends: http://galk.50megs.com/logs/ |

[15] Edited by: Thomas Torquemada on 13/03/2005 03:23:30 Sounds good, make it so perhaps you ask an agent that you wish to become part of their navy/forces, meaning when you accept you can kill other players who also did that in your opposing race. Minmatar accepts this role so he can attack/be attacked by an amarr player who also accepted the role. I like that plan. UPC - PVP'ers Good and Bad, How Do You Want Peace? [17] i've been wanting something like this in most MMORPGs I've played.. listen closely GMs playing NPC characters! omg, and there could be like .. roleplaying? on a massive scale though, not this "one ship moving through xetic alliance space" stuff we see now. I want whole fleets of GM ships traveling through a certain sector with a purpose. oh well.. only if it were my game ________ I'm strict Caldari "The grass is always greener on the other side" - Maybe they're not as uber as you think? -ErrorS |

[29] Edited by: Cinnander on 13/03/2005 12:31:55 Why limit it to GM ships? Why not allow the players who have - for example - UBERHIGHBBQ Angel Cartel Standings to "side" with them in a "semi-npc" corp, or heck join "Archangels" outright. I believe that's what the original poster is saying. GMs have *far* more fun & interesting things to do, like answering petitions. Would really like to see something like this, but it mustn't enable allround gankfests in empire on every gate, station etc otherwise it would just become ... un-special. *Big* engagements could make the news etc. I guess it could (in the long term) be inegrated into the mission system, with for example Level 5 Command agents. I'll attempt to explain, but first we'd need a way for multiple people "talking" to the same agent to get added to the same mission instance, unlike the current L4 method where you have to form a gang yourself. Angels Agent Mission: First person talks to the Agent while this mission is available; the mission instance is created if they accept (fairly long duration, like 5 days): Attack and destroy Minmatar Navy deadspace outpost in So you have a few people on this mission instance on behalf of the Angels, once there's "enough". Minmatar Navy Agent: Sends out an "important mission" to intially the same number of people who are involved with the Angels' mission. More are sent until the forces are equal ¦ 10%. People can somehow volunteer via the Originating Agent (similar to the above: standing not required, but knowledge that the Agent has this opportunity would be needed). Would be something to the tune of "Intelligence reports that the Angels are intending to mount an assault on our deadspace depot in Once both sides have enough people in the instance [or a timer expires], a date and time for the mission are set. At this time fighting between all in the instance will become legal, and in the given system a deadspace objective would spawn. People are given bookmarks to their respective gate/side of it (one for attackers, one for defenders). Throw in a few deadspace structures, add a designated start and end time (such as 1 hour later), a few objectves (they must not kill So rigourous fighting ensues, someone wins, faction standings are adjusted etc. One problem i can think of; If you have people in (for example) NPC corps doing this, it wouldnt be very organised and most missions would either have low participation or not happen at all. However, if people stick in groups (EG a group of corp mates/freinds who do these frequently) then it should all pan out nicely :P Then you'd get famous squads emerging... "15th Angel Dominations Wing - Undefeated in 6 engagements" etc. Of course the name of the squad would be arbitrary and not binding. Just like when people would put "Xetic Member" In their bio before Exodus Alliances, there wasnt actually a "Xetic" entity. Just some ideas, apols for the length. |
