Dreaming Dogs	Posted - 2005.03.13 18:22:00 - [1] Yeah I know its not the best ship for it, but its what I use. I've tried quite a few setups and I barely get out with my life. Like Silence the informant, my torps had not even hit a drone yet, and I was down to hull. Coming in 12km from all those drones is not my idea of how to fight them.... .,,,, Any ideas? I'm not doing something right.

The dom just doesn't have the power or cpu to tank AND have guns, it relies too much on its drone power, not to mention the fact that the megathron has more armor and cap juice. As for the megathron, I use it for lvl4 missions and it does quite well. Use the rails for bigger targets and for range and cruise missiles and your drones for closer targets, with good drone skills the megathron is quite effective at close range if your kitted with rails. My setup is as follows; Highs: 6 350 scouts, 2 malkuth cruise launchers mid : 4 barton cap rechargers (of course your better off with higher quality rechargers) lows : 2 large automated carapice restoration armor reps, 2 hardeners and 3 cap power relays. That setup works great for me with lvl4 missions, hope it helps I also can control 9 drones and that helps alot.

Got bored of my raven no so am now training to use an apoc with megapulses. Death to the Galante
Vanaaa	Posted - 2005.03.14 11:47:00 - [5] Just some ideas, I'm mayself about to find out, what setups are needed for lvl4 in a mega: Low: Use 4 hardeners (the 50% ones or better). Check what hardeners u need for the npc you are fighting (eg. 2 thermal and 2 kinetic for serpentis - I think). I fu can fit Tech2 repper, fit one large named and 1 medium T2 repper in low. Slot 7 for 1600er plate if u can. Mid Slots all for Cap recharger. High slots: If u go against missile spamming npc, fit a named assault launcher with defenders. and the usual tipps: don't aggro everything together (e.g. don't release drones at the beginning). let the enemy target you and finish the group that targets you, then switch to another group.

And I found it is useful not to FORGET to turn the hardeners on. HEH But it works. The supreme drones are hard to kill. But then my rail and torp skills are at 4, if they were at 5 I'd be doing better. Also many of my other skills are at 4, and would do a lot better at 5. When I started this game a corp member told me to shield tank my megathron. I lost it right away and was scared to do anything risky with it after that. Armor tanking it works a lot better for me on my Mega. The setup quoted below is fine although I prefer torps. I think the Mega needs a little tweaking right now, it's a little weak compared to Ravens and Apocs, imho. I used to use 2 different setups, 1 using frigate sized guns so i could tank much better and kill the frigs and cruisers much more quickly. I would then warp and switch to 350's when all the cruisers/frigs were dead and started on the battleships. Took forever and eventually my mega went pop so i bought an apoc

Hybrids are utterly useless in lvl4's (or in most situations).. get a Raven, they are the kings of level4's at the moment imo

My current setup: 6x 350 with AM(best named you can get) 2x Siege with therm/kin torps(again best named :P) 4x Cap recharge t2 1x lge accomodation 1x med t2 repair 3x hardener (varies according to enemies) 2x capacitor power relay 8x Ogres (to help against mwding crusiers) 10x Warrior (to act as a decoy when needed) With this setup and decent skills i can solo pretty much everything except extravaganza, and i havnet yet been asked Damsel (wierd after 30+ missions). Tbh i can rarely meet the bonus reward of deadpsace missions.
